@White Noise Multiple issues with my White Noise first-time experience today: 1. The app entry advertised in Zapstore was for a wrong (old?) ID and never resolved to any version on the app page. Might want to get that fixed there, as it's uninstallable that way. 2. I can't finish onboarding, because a) it claims the Damus relay from my mailbox list is retired, so it doesn't want to use it (but the relay is actually working) and b) it wants to overwrite my mailbox list, but when trying to "choose relays" other than the two recommended ones, it doesn't show my current ones. I think a messaging app shouldn't overwrite relays used for social media in the first place. Why not just start with the recommended relays, and then let the user change the relays just for the app, instead of their whole mailboxes list?

At this point, I'm not giving any app the permission to publish personal metadata events without asking. Which is absolutely abysmal UX for newcomers and anyone who isn't a tech person. Did anyone ever come up with a halfway reasonable solution to this problem? View quoted note →

Tried DeepSeek 4.1 Flash today. Worked on 5 PRs, covering the productive part of my day, spent only $1.11 on it. The experience was at least on par with the last flagship model I tried, if not slightly better. If I had billions riding on proprietary LLMs, I'd probably also try to make everything else illegal.
