The story would have been set right, and Duterte and company would have been "real heroes", if they did something unthinkable: At the end of their term, knowing their crimes against God, against civility, against humanity, submitted themselves to receive what is due them - the bearer of the sword shall die by the sword. But instead, self-preservation and reluctance to face a higher authority was too much for them. And that's the key word here: accountability. If cleansing the archipelago of narcotics was their clarion call, their true and pure raison d'etre, then they knew that they had to break the rules to make things right. They played the role of executioner which many Christians applauded. But, what they should have known was at the end of their mission, they would have to answer for their own crimes - with their lives. If that is what they had done, then they would have been true patriots and heroes. But, that is not to be. So what we have are two feuding camps, one feudal lord over another. Bereft of any moral ascendancy and catering to the simplistic mind of the naive voter. That is what the Game of Thrones is all about. The greater liar will triumph over the lesser one. But what actually paved the way for the return of the dictator's son was none other than Duterte himself. He sided with the black propagandists and lie peddlers to eradicate the opposition. Now he cries for a democracy with an opposition? What opposition? What civil society? Never have I thought that the future I would be living in would bring back the shadows of the dictator. We have been complacent and now all of the literal crooks are in government. The old guard has gone - and the new guard, nonexistent... They systematically eroded safeguards, checks and balances to cement their rise back to power. Now they want to change the Constitution for possibly the following things: 1. Foreign ownership of land. 2. Constitutional term limits. This will cement their hold to power.

They now boast attendance of 250,000 people - no doubt a huge percentage of which are government employees who are encouraged to "voluntarily attend."

2nd Random thought of the night: Zombies and the US Migrant Crisis. If NetFlix, Hollywood, and US mass media are all instruments meant to "push" an idea - what do the ideas of zombies climbing fences and making holes in them create? But then the problem is real - or at least, that's my outsider impression of the matter is after seeing Elon Musk constantly post videos of hordes of people climbing fences. I consider this morbid fascination of zombies a very strange phenomenon that seemed to peak in the last 10 years. These shows, apart from their entertainment value tap into the deepest recesses of the human mind to press the buttons of fear, defense and action. Nothing triggers humans than the idea of wanton violations of territory. Despite its great value as a news source, I always view twitter as a massive propaganda battle ground between battling forces that are mostly unseen. Remember all those videos purportedly from China, at the early onset of the Covid outbreak? Those videos of people just plopping down the floor, dropping abnormally....

Random thought of the night. The scenario of an elder Imee Marcos who is a Senator, going against the younger Bong Bong Marcos (the President), with regards to changing the Philippine 1987 Constitution, doesn't smell right to me. She even went to a religious festival, and prayed such a strange prayer - obviously to get the "trust" and "confidence" of Christian pastors and their flock. There may be a "ploy" at work here, as is common in #philippine #politics. I recall a time when the allies of a former President, filed a watered-down impeachment complaint against her, so the other "more legitimate" impeachment complaint would trigger the rules on double-jeopardy just so the fake complaint filed would be deliberately dismissed... These are the scheming concoctions of the ruling elite, meant to confuse and divide the opposition... But who benefits... What are the trade-offs? What is the next move?

It's akin to the word "playing". Like an evil spirit "played" with him, and that's why the grass cutter ceased working. But the word he used was "touched" or "ginalaw"...
