What a tech sell-off today! I tried DeepSeek this weekend. It's good no matter what hardware it was trained on, there's no two ways about that. This is going to be interesting to follow. $ASML.AS $NVDA $TSM
Kiss - I Was Made For Lovin' You I was made for lovin' you, baby You were made for lovin' me And I can't get enough of you, baby Can you get enough of me? That hook has more pull than the sun.
The Tom Ford crocodile jacket Jensen wore at CES didn't deter me from buying more Nvidia today. Why would anyone be selling here? Did we watch the same keynote? Because some bogus job numbers? Also bought some Hyatt. $NVDA $H image
Bloomberg - Microsoft to Spend $80 Billion on AI Data Centers This Year Staggering amount no doubt. "Much of the spending on data centers goes toward high-powered chips from companies including Nvidia Corp. and infrastructure providers such as Dell Technologies Inc." $MSFT $NVDA $TSM $ASML.AS image Source (Paywall)
Michael Lewis - Going Infinite Just finished reading this book and it's a good one! image Lewis is the author of Liar's Poker, Moneyball, Flash Boys, The Big Short to name a few. Prior to reading this one I've only read Flash Boys and seen the film adaptations of Moneyball and The Big Short. I recommend them all. Going Infinite describes the story of Sam Bankman-Fried, his collaborators, trading firm Alameda Research and crypto exchange FTX. It begins with Bankman-Fried's time at MIT and continues right up to the trial. It's an interesting book due to... - It's well researched as Lewis spent over a year with Bankman-Fried - Has a bunch of interesting characters who share a strong belief in an ideology - The above mentioned characters in places and situations they weren't ready for - Bitcoin & crypto - Crime - Love The book almost gives the impression things just ended up as they did with no bad intent from Bankman-Fried and colleagues. I guess it's a bit hard to tell what the initial intentions were and how much Lewis knew, but I've a hard time believing this was all some misunderstanding or accident. Even Bankman-Fried himself didn't manage to change my mind with those interviews he participated in after the fall of FTX. Some were painful to watch. I think Bankman-Fried and colleagues knew what they were doing and they didn't really care if it was illegal or morally wrong. The ends justified the means especially since they, according to themselves, were in the business of saving lives. It's good to have a critical eye when reading Going Infinite as numerous aggravating factors aren't mentioned, nonetheless it's well written, quite funny sometimes and gives some sort of insight into a world most of us aren't a part of.
Sometimes taking a break from here is the right thing to do. A month now and then is good.
Four Tet - Awakenings ADE '24 A monumental set by the great man at Gashouder! Unfortunately I wasn't there, but it sounds and looks like it was amazing. A recommended listen. Much love to Awakenings for putting it online! ❤️
The Brutalist Speaker - Transparent Sound This might be the most beautiful speaker I've ever seen. 12 kg / 26,5lbs €3800 / $4000 image
Bitcoin, The Red Wave, and The Crypto Renaissance - Michael Saylor Speaks at Cantor Fitzgerald Great new presentation by Saylor! Different asset classes vs inflation, capital preservation, volatility, NAV premium of MicroStrategy, #bitcoin as strategic reserve and more. If you've watched some of his presentations before most things are familiar, a couple are new.
#bitcoin $88 k! I need someone to make some sense of this price action. Who's buying it all? image
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning (Teaser Trailer) Tom is on another level!
Daily readiness: 100! Even my Fitbit knows what's up this morning. I haven't been anywhere close to this before. Must be a sign! 😂 image
Gordon Gekko: Mixed emotions, buddy. Like Larry Wildman going off a cliff in my new Maserati. image
