#Bitcoin for daily community usage
On Sept 1st 2023, Ash The Barber received his first 3k sats from @Brindon ⚡️ when #Bitcoin was at $28k. Today, the same 3k sats gets 3 haircuts. (https://x.com/BrindonMwiine/status/1697682787535376408) He’s since rented his own salon, stacking sats by accepting Bitcoin for haircuts or converting cash to Bitcoin!⚡️ Ash has big plans, a low time preference and knoweldge about #Bitcoin thanks to School of Satoshi – though he’ll still spend a bit of sats on Juicy B and snacks, his #Bitcoin is for achieving his dreams. Imagine if the question "Can I tip you in Bitcoin?" was never asked? #Bitcoin isn’t just for holding, it’s for spending, stacking, and building futures.
Happy 21st🎉 It’s Salary Day again We’re always excited to pay all our teachers in sats, as part of our commitment to the Bitcoin standard. Over time, our teachers have grown to prefer #Bitcoin payments for the value they receive in the long run and the simplicity of transactions—no mobile money fees, just seamless and efficient transfers. Enjoy the video below thanks to @Orphans of Uganda ! #Bitcoin #Education

Our #Bitcoin Mechanic has been starting conversations at his workplace about #Bitcoin Today he brought his workmate for some Juice from Juicy B and of course paid in #Bitcoin His key highlight is there are no fees on transactions made over lightning something he struggles with since he sometimes has to receive mobile money from clients and pay for local car parts, pay for parts from Kenya (of course @Tando.me came up) and the likes. This was his second #Bitcoin touch point, the first was @Bitrefill for airtime. Slowly then Suddenly S A V E S P E N D R E P L A C E zap him a juice (1,555 sats) and share the screenshot below - will use it drag him to #NOSTR (atukundaanold@blink.sv) Credits song by @Man Like Kweks video by @Brindon ⚡️

Yesterday was a breakthrough! One of my biggest worries with the Save Starlight School project has been this: Will our 115 orphans and those who join in the future grow into employable, entrepreneurial, purpose-driven adults? Traditional education systems often fall short. They rarely equip children, especially those aged 3 to 16 like at @OrphansofUganda , with the real-world skills needed to become change-makers. And time is ticking fast. Yesterday at the Africa Business Heroes info session, I met one of the co-founders of MST Junior School, a school already building the kind of future I dream of: sustainable, skill-based education rooted in ICT, carpentry, music, engineering, and farming. We briefly explored the possibility of franchising or knowledge sharing and agreed for a future meeting, for the first time in a while I felt hope rise. Discovering mstjuniorschool.ac.ug genuinely lifted a huge burden off my shoulders(watch video below and check their website) Shoutout to RachealKabs and @studentofbitcoin who were the first to help me realize that raising well-rounded children isn’t just about money and buildings. And special thanks to Rachel Bashabe for the invite. You helped unlock something big.
Car service & repairs… paid in #Bitcoin! Atukunda Arnold is not only one of the best rugby players in Uganda 🇺🇬, he’s also the only mechanic who explains things in plain English 😂 We’ve been taking our time to learn about Bitcoin — with all the cars in our community (especially Gorilla Sats tours), we couldn’t keep selling #sats for fiat. Now he gets it, And more and more payments are happening in #Bitcoin. Feel free to tip him atukundaanold@blink.sv Fellow Rugby lovers Enjoy the Try 👇🏽👇🏽 image
Mining our first 21 sats w/ Gorilla Sats Thanks to @average_gary we received an Antminer S9J to get our foot in the door to commence #Bitcoin mining as part of our annual targets. As @Jesse Pielke always says "START" and you will figure mining out. Thanks to our mighty commanders @satstacker@8333.mobi & @Afan🪐 and all the youtube creators who made today possible.🤣 #hashrate ⚡️
I spent the day with one of our community vendors, he has received substantial #Bitcoin payments that he didn’t touch for now 7-8 months. He serves 200-300 @Makerere Students per day. These are sats waiting to circulate 🤭 He has let me in on plans to improve his fast food business appearance and he is choosing to do a #Bitcoin Themed repaint on the shop. #Bitcoin is Hope 🧡 We will support him, you can too rolexbyhamza@blink.sv
We sold our first 40 liters of liquid soap 🧼 Last week Afan & Edith led the children at @Orphans of Uganda through their first commercial production of liquid soap! As one of our sustainability models, the children are learning how to make & SELL the soap to the community, I’m really proud that they sold their first 40 liters and will be making more tomorrow. The money made from these projects will reduce our dependency on donations while giving the children permanent life skills. We have more sustainability models to unlock this year & next year; This year 1. Commercial Liquid Soap (65% done) 2. Making Reusable Sanitary Towels(10%) 3. Maize Milling(20%) With a workforce of 113 children, we are ready to take on a big Liquid Soap order, please refer us. Buying from us is a better way to Donate 🧡 image
