As Ofcom in the UK pushes forward with heavy-handed regulations on tech companies under the guise of child safety, it’s becoming clearer why I was so urgent about sharing this piece. Some form of age verification will have to exist in the UK on X as well as other providers by July 25, 2025.

The Ofcom rules for children's safety online, part of the Online Safety Act, come into force on July 25, 2025.

Podcasts were great before the same 25 people started interviewing each other on repeat, recycling their ice cold takes that they post on X all day on the same dusty podcasts as everyone else.
