I am going to experiment with some pads on the case to lift the PCB up by a specific amount. Right now the length of the tails from the headers is what determines the PCB height.
This means the height of the PCB varies, even if slightly, on each build. This, in turn, causes the ideal height of the case to vary, as the screen is attached to the shell of the case.
Standardizing this offset, the pin header size (top), and the height of the case means a better fit for every #thermostat that I make.
Adding these will also require changing the orientation in which the backplate is printed in order to continue avoiding the need for any supports.
This is the amount of time, #passion and #engineering that I put into this project. ❤️

I though having a 3D printer was going to be handy, but I gotta tell ya, it's a game changer.
It's nothing especially special. I've had many of these printed many of these on friends' printers, at the #library, and at the #makerspace. The difference is that I printed this one by myself.
And the print quality is great, despite it being a cheap printer.
