The #Bitcoin Family is a #Dutch family led by Didi Taihuttu, who gained fame for their unconventional lifestyle choice to sell all their possessions and invest entirely in Bitcoin. This decision was made in 2017, marking the beginning of their journey as a nomadic family living solely off #cryptocurrency. The family consists of Didi, his wife Romaine, and their three daughters: Joli, Juna, and Jessa. The family has visited over 40 countries, promoting Bitcoin adoption and educating others about blockchain technology. They document their journey through blogs, vlogs, and social media platforms, sharing insights into living a #decentralized life. They also advocate for charitable causes by encouraging donations in Bitcoin. image

In the mainstream narrative, #technology and #development are always parallel. But development in what? In what have we become better? In #social_life? In interaction with #nature? In comfort and convenience? I agree with #Kaczynski that technology is the cause of human degradation and suffering. Reviewing videos from the past decades makes it clearer to me that the growth of technology, development and #globalization have made us alienated, confused and, of course, poorer. #Nature was more alive and #humans were still free. But can we hope for #Bitcoin and #Nostr and any other #decentralized systems as a #liberating_technological achievement?

"The Lovers' Wind" was made in #1969 by order of the #Iranian #government at that time with the aim of showing #modern #Iran and the #industrial achievements of the government. But instead of showing the industrial achievements of modern Iran, the tasteful director #Albert_Lamorisse showed the #nature, people, #culture, architecture and #art of #ancient Iran with his own special point of view. In the end, the film did not please #Mohammad_Reza_Pahlavi and Lamorisse was forced to film the modern achievements again and had to fly over the #lake of #Karaj_Dam to take pictures of this concrete structure against his will. But the helicopter propeller got stuck in the cables used for training rangers and Lamorisse and the pilot were swallowed up by the #dam.
