I saw an interesting blog post with the following footer: I write well-researched, original articles about geek culture, electronic circuit design, and more. If you like the content, please subscribe. It’s increasingly difficult to stay in touch with readers via social media; my typical post on X is shown to less than 5% of my followers and gets a ~0.2% clickthrough rate. This made me think: there is a world to gain for people who’re willing to invest some time into understanding #Nostr. 🤯 Wish more people knew about this protocol and ecosystem 😊

Social critic Ivan Illich's 1981 book Shadow Work describes how the modern wage-earner economy demands unpaid shadow work to do all the necessary domestic / daily-life work so the wage earner can spend hours commuting to work, performing at work and then returning home too drained / zombified to do much in the non-paid-work realm. Highly processed "food" (that makes us ill) is offered up as a "time saver" and a plethora of "conveniences" (that break down after a few years of service) are available for purchase to reduce the shadow work.

I’ve learned soo much about electricity by just reading this one well written blogpost 🤯 For example: It’s important to note that while the charge equalization process is fast, the drift of individual electrons is not. The field propagates at close to the speed of light in vacuum (circa 300,000 km/s); individual electrons in a copper wire typically slither at speeds measured in centimeters per hour or less. A crude analogy is the travel of sound waves in air: if you yell at someone, they will hear you long before any single air molecule makes it from here to there. link:

This is a horrible reason for why we need Nostr. As long as you say things that are true and not hurtful you are just fine under German law 🤔 View quoted note →

Who will build this on #asknostr? rock hound here I have soft tissue fossils, skin and scales, crinonind body parts, plant fossils, and a small trackway other trace fossils, like waves from an ancient beach....found on a modern beach:) my observation is that the amount of actual field work bieng done is low, and that setting up a world wide app, that would connect accredited researchers with dedicated field workers(rock hounds)(( and pay them and credit them)), could advance our study of lifes origins and path in a timely and cost effective way. there are a bunch of competeing apps for geo locating varios flora and fauna, that combine field work with a social media aspect seem popular, but personaly, no one is getting my gps co-ordinates, without paying me.,...every time Source:

The problem with the news these days is that I don’t know anymore if it’s a jest, serious or parody. 🤡🌎

Now that the queen of my heart has also started to use #nostr I realise that our content here is "limited", Maybe having a Pinterest or Reddit bridge to the Unscencored Web would help bring in new converts? #asknostr how do I go about this?
