I've been making some kaizen at the tiny workshop. All minor improvements with potential to stack and compound with eachother.
I brought my grandfather's bench grinder. He made it with an old washing machine motor. Still working after all these years... 50 years? At least. A little oil and that's all...
Then I brought a picture of him. My grand father, from my dad's side. I didn't knew him. He passed when I was 6months old. Yet I was always very fond of his work and his doings.
Then, there's my screw collection. Our screws ( grandfather, father and I ) because I think we have been collecting them since decades ago, the bulk just switched hands.
I classified them last week and found a proper place in the workshop that feels right.
(I have another tiny drawer with the tiniest of them all)
I don't waste screws. Or bolts or washers.
I look for them near the holes and the bumps in the streets. Specially nuts, bolts, washers... Because when there is a bump on the road they fall from old cars and bikes.
Then they roll to the lowest point of pebble accumulation.
There I look and always find some.
