This is the root of Pokeweed (Pyhtolacca americana) which my neighbor told me was poisonous. I'l have a lot of it and was worried about the kids maybe eating some of the berries. I was ready to wage war on it. Then I learned that is a valued medicinal plant with all sorts of uses. Now I'm going to be making some tinctures and salves with it. Finally it is here! About 2 weeks ago I developed this sores on my tongue. I first I thought it was a canker sore, but it just kept getting worse and after some research I found out it was oral thrush. It is painful, pray you never experience it. This led me down a rabbit hole of Candida. Most medical sources will tell you that it is benignly hanging out in your body most of the time not causing and trouble, but that is not true. Among other things it enables the bacteria, p gingivalis (you know the one that causes cavities), to take hold on your teeth. My mouth is feeling better, but not back to 100%. I've been avoiding sugars and flour, taking turmeric and boron. Now I'm declaring full out war on candida and am on day 2 of my first candida cleanse.
