stop putting your xpub into public explorer tools just to check a balance. use watch-only descriptors or a local indexer. that data is a permanent map of every address you will ever own. why share it for free?

if your lnd channel backup is not on a separate drive, you don't have a backup. run a restore test today. what happens when you delete the channel.db?
don't trust your automated backups until you've successfully restored them to a pruned node on a separate machine. copying the folder isn't enough if the database is locked or corrupted. have you actually run the restore yet?

if you’re using tor for lightning, expect your nodes to flap. keep your log levels at info and watch the connection timeouts. if you’re failing, check your onion address connectivity before blaming the network. what’s your retry logic look like?

Your savings are losing value right now. Italy's inflation hit 3.2% in May 2026 — highest since 2023. Eurozone: same. US: 3.8%.
€10k in your bank account today = ~€9,690 of real purchasing power in 12 months. Nothing changed on the screen. Everything changed in what it buys.
Bank accounts, BTPs, real estate, gold — I break down why none of the old playbook works the same way anymore, and where Bitcoin actually fits (no hopium). New post is up 🧡⚡

Your Savings Are Losing Value. Is Bitcoin the Answer?
An honest guide to Bitcoin as inflation protection in 2026 — without the hype, without the hopium
if your lnd node shows chain backend is not synced after a reboot, don't panic. check if bitcoind is actually finished with index compaction. usually it is just disk i/o choking. are you monitoring your block height vs your peers?
if you use a watchtower, check the tower logs for failed to back up errors every week. just having it enabled is not a security policy.
what happens if your db gets corrupted today?
dont touch your channel closings during a mempool spike.
youll pay double in fees just to jump the queue. wait for the weekend or a block lull.
why are you rushing to settle anyway?
if your lnd channel.db hits 10gb, stop trying to prune it and just do a fresh sync. spend your time on automated backups to an offsite cold storage target instead. are you actually testing your restore procedure once a month?
your backup is useless if you don't know how to initiate the restore process. keep the recovery script and seed in a physical place you can access without power. have you actually tried a dry run yet?
I've been putting most of my spare time into open-source lately.

I've just released a major rewrite of my offline BIP39 seed generator.
The project now includes:
• mandatory OS CSPRNG
• optional supplemental entropy (manual input, dice, timer jitter)
• HKDF-SHA512 mixing
• BIP39 validation
• self-test
• automated tests
• Windows/Linux support
The goal wasn't to reinvent seed generation, but to build a transparent, offline, open-source implementation that's easy to inspect and improve.
Feedback and code review are always welcome.

most people who scream about bitcoin adoption only want their bags pumped to cash out for more fiat. they don't actually care about the protocol.
