GhostNet Version 1.5 By s2underground “GhostNet is the overarching term for a collection of communications networks set up to allow users around the world to exchange information without relying on pre-established infrastructure. Far from being just an emergency plan, GhostNet is intended to ease the transition of radio technology into everyday life. Though radio networks cannot truly replace the internet, we hope that we can replace a substantial portion of a person’s daily information requirements, and promote a culture of off-grid information sharing.” #ghostnet #hamradio #amateurradio #radio #js8call #s2underground #emcomm #prepare #prepper

If you like radio, but not the regulations, check this out… https://docs.fcc.gov/public/attachments/DA-25-219A1.pdf 👀 The document is titled “IN RE: DELETE, DELETE, DELETE” 👀 The document is a Public Notice from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) titled DA-25-219A1, released on March 12, 2025. It announces the FCC’s initiative to review and eliminate unnecessary regulations as part of a deregulatory agenda. Key Points: • Purpose: The FCC seeks public input on identifying regulations that may no longer be necessary or that impose unnecessary burdens on businesses. • Deregulatory Focus: The notice aligns with Executive Orders (14192 and 14219) which emphasize reducing regulatory obstacles and encouraging investment in telecommunications infrastructure and innovation. • Comments & Reply Deadline: • Initial comments due by April 11, 2025. • Reply comments due by April 28, 2025. • Evaluation Factors: • Cost-benefit analysis: Are there FCC regulations where costs exceed benefits? • Effectiveness over time: Have some regulations failed to meet their intended purpose? • Technological & market changes: Are there rules that are outdated due to advancements in technology? • Barriers to entry: Do regulations disproportionately impact small businesses? • Legal context changes: Have legal rulings (such as the Supreme Court’s Loper Bright decision overturning Chevron deference) altered the regulatory landscape? Call for Public Input • The FCC invites detailed comments on specific rules that should be repealed or modified, considering factors such as: • Unnecessary compliance costs. • Regulatory barriers to competition. • Changes in the broader regulatory framework. Submission & Filing Process • Comments should be submitted via the FCC’s Electronic Comment Filing System (ECFS). • Paper filings are accepted through designated FCC addresses. ***Putting this out just a little early because I know everyone will be busy later in the week. 🎄⚡️🎄 My Current Recommendations for Mesh Radios as Stocking Stuffers. These mesh nodes all work for Meshtastic and they should all work on Reticulum soon. 🎄⚡️🎄 🎁 Use this holiday season as an opportunity to build out your local mesh. 🎁 If you were giving a neighbor or loved one a gift anyways, give them the gift of a mesh node. 🎁 Do you have to do a Secret Santa gift exchange at work? Get them a mesh node. This will also get a conversation started when folks see your recipient open the present. 🎁 For parents: Was your kid good this year? Get them a mesh node. Tell them an elf made it special just for them. 🎄⚡️🎄 You may want to order them ASAP to make sure you get them in time for Christmas. 🎄⚡️🎄 (These recommended nodes should all have Reticulum firmware available shortly on the community firmware GitHub) 📟 SeeedStudio T1000-e: My top choice for EDC (Everyday Carry) mesh node. It has no external antenna, waterproof, compact and reliable. 🔋 Rak WisBlock: My go to for building solar-powered repeaters. With ultra-low power usage, it’s perfect for long-term, remote setups. 📵 Lilygo T-Deck: For a standalone all-in-one device—no phone or tablet required. It has the classic BlackBerry-style form factor, and once the new UI is ready, this will be a must have. Everyone will want one, consider getting one before the rush comes. 💸 Heltec v3: If you’re just starting out, this is a low cost option is a solid entry-level unit and easy to find with a case included. Easy to experiment with and great for beginners. 🖨️ Got a 3D printer? Skip the Heltec V3 and print your own case and dive straight into a custom Rak build. It is just slight more expensive and far better on power consumption. #meshtastic #mesh #reticulum #sideband #nomadnet #ham #hamradio #amateurradio #radio #915mhz #meshradio #edc #offgrid #lora #diynetworking #heltec #lilygo #rak #seeedstudio #grownostr #gm #merrychristmas #blackfriday #happythanksgiving #christmas #thanksgiving image

What is Reticulum? Reticulum is a cryptography-based networking stack for building both local and wide-area networks with readily available hardware, that can continue to operate under adverse conditions, such as extremely low bandwidth and very high latency. Reticulum allows you to build wide-area networks with off-the-shelf tools, and offers end-to-end encryption, forward secrecy, autoconfiguring cryptographically backed multi-hop transport, efficient addressing, unforgeable packet acknowledgements and more. From a users perspective, Reticulum allows the creation of applications that respect and empower the autonomy and sovereignty of communities and individuals. Reticulum enables secure digital communication that cannot be subjected to outside control, manipulation or censorship. Reticulum enables the construction of both small and potentially planetary-scale networks, without any need for hierarchical or beaureucratic structures to control or manage them, while ensuring individuals and communities full sovereignty over their own network segments. Reticulum is a complete networking stack, and does not need IP or higher layers, although it is easy to utilise IP (with TCP or UDP) as the underlying carrier for Reticulum. It is therefore trivial to tunnel Reticulum over the Internet or private IP networks. Reticulum is built directly on cryptographic principles, allowing resilience and stable functionality in open and trustless networks. No kernel modules or drivers are required. Reticulum can run completely in userland, and will run on practically any system that runs Python 3. Reticulum runs well even on small single-board computers like the Pi Zero. #hamradio #reticulum #nomadnet #sideband #lora #mesh #packet #radio #packetradio #hamradio #amateurradio
