EARLY V4V release! ⚡🎶🎧 ‘Strangers To Lovers’ was written with Vinnie Paolizzi when I was in Nashville last August. We spent most of the writing session catching up on what had happened since we last saw each other in 2018. When we finally got round to writing, we came up with this tune in a few minutes, one of of the easiest co-writes I’ve had thus far. I wanted to do an acoustic version of the tune to showcase the lyric and story, so took it to the talented James Wyatt at Sloe Flower Studio and explained, I didn’t want anything fancy, I just wanted something real. We talked for a while about influences and soon discovered we were both big fans of Dave Cobb, Jason Isbell and that school of classic production / songwriting. I know this track will make it on the next album, which I will hopefully be recording later this year. But it’s been a while since I released anything and wanted to put this song out there the way I play it live. This will be in the set as well as other new songs on my tour with Carter Sampson which starts this Friday! Hope you enjoy the new tune and hopefully catch you at a show @Wavlake:
