RoninDojo v3.0.0 Beta
Today, April 24th 2026, marks the second anniversary of the indictment and pre-dawn armed raids of the Samourai Wallet developers. On this historic and dark day for Bitcoin, we shine a bright light of defiance by announcing the beta release of the long awaited RoninDojo v3.0.0. This milestone marks months of careful development and collaboration by new teams carrying forward a project rooted in a deep commitment to Bitcoin sovereignty and strong privacy-preserving tooling.
We take this moment to honor the fallen, whose dedication and sacrifices helped shape the privacy ecosystem many rely on today. Their work and principles continue to guide the project’s direction; the ideas they championed live on in the code, in the community, and in the new team now stewarding RoninDojo forward.
The beta is intentionally limited to invited participants so we can gather focused feedback, harden the release, and ensure the stability of the software before a wider rollout.

I’m working on adding a long-form (NIP-23) feature to Nostr. What UI/UX tips and ideas should I keep in mind for this? What do you find works well, and what doesn’t for this type of content?
Digital Credit's Fixable Fatal Flaw
In this long-overdue episode, I take a hard, first-principles look at so‑called “digital credit” — issuing liabilities against Bitcoin — with MicroStrategy/Strategy’s preferreds as the prime case study. I lay out what works (clear dividends, accrual features, and board accountability mechanisms) and what doesn’t, and why a headline B– credit rating means little if the core asset backing the structure can’t be independently validated. I also explain why fast‑and‑loose wording on earnings calls invites avoidable SEC scrutiny and fuels both low‑signal attacks and low‑signal cheerleading. From my 30 years in risk, I contrast traditional asset verification with today’s crypto accounting realities: FASB’s standard still doesn’t require proof of key control or move‑ability of coins. I argue that large holders should implement auditor‑observable proofs of ownership and custody transparency before scaling digital‑credit products — and I outline the minimum bar I’d require to consider this a durable asset class rather than a black box with latent, systemic risk.

To support this, I’ve introduced a new “event ID” post type. Under the hood, it’s published as a standard kind :6 repost, so it stays compatible with other clients while fitting naturally into Substr’s structure.
It’s already working, but I’m still fine-tuning the experience. Npubs will be displayed as usernames and link directly to /u/. Links will no longer show as raw URLs, but as compact previews, and video links can be played directly in a modal player.
Next step: you’ll be able to paste not just an event ID, but also a post URL from another client, and Substr will resolve and render it automatically.

Designed to sit on sleeves, pant legs, side panels or as a vertical print element.
▸ Horizontal Element
A wide banner composition built around contrast, hazard striping and the skull mark.
Ideal for chest prints, back prints, banners or large-format applications.
▸ Vertical Element
A tall composition that balances typography and the skull icon — perfect for long garments, posters or stickers.
The skull is intentionally reduced and symbol-like.
Not decorative. A warning, not a mascot.
You are free to:
- Wear it

The event is being held at the historic Guildhall, a medieval Grade 1 listed building situated in the heart of Bury St Edmunds. The building is one of the oldest civil buildings in the country, with records going back as far as the 1100's.
