I may not be exactly where I want to be yet, but today's version of me would absolutely bury the former.

GM. It's a beautiful day to work hard, with purpose and intent. I am building my own future while bringing up those around me. Rising tides lift all ships. I am wrestling with God through the fog. Coach, a guide and mentor to trust. I am identifying and correcting my own shortcomings, calling them out where I see them. Sharpening the axe.

Dad let me borrow a sweet baitcaster rod and reel. Stoked to start chucking some jigs on that, although I do love the spinning rod so far. I'm so ready for this heat wave to settle into autumn. 🎣 🍂 #fishing #photography

Have you tried unplugging it and walking away?

I highly recommend time at the river with your closest friends, falling a bit behind on sleep, and unplugging for a bit. We did just that this past weekend in a nice cabin just a short walk from the water. While I didn't get any smallmouth to bite, I still got my first catch on the books - several lovely bluegill in the dim hours of dawn and dusk. Meals were top notch, especially the campfire s'mores. Wholesome.

A note to self re: my imposter syndrome. Most of the value I seem to bring to my work is the ability to consistently stay organized, support decisions with logic, and show up relentlessly. My optimistic attitude allows me to pivot quickly when new ideas appear, providing an agile channel for ideation. I shy away from calling myself a technical master at any one given skill. But I have curiosities that I feed routinely; allowing myself to go into rabbit holes when deeply interested. ⚔️
