Westerners, I cam across this Hadith. As a Muslim.. I'm not worried about you for the following prophecy from prophet Mohammed PBUH, which Amr Ibn Alaas had the following comment:
تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ والرُّومُ أكْثَرُ النَّاسِ. فَقالَ له عَمْرٌو: أبْصِرْ ما تَقُولُ، قالَ: أقُولُ ما سَمِعْتُ مِن رَسولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلَّمَ، قالَ: لَئِنْ قُلْتَ ذلكَ، إنَّ فيهم لَخِصالًا أرْبَعًا: إنَّهُمْ لأَحْلَمُ النَّاسِ عِنْدَ فِتْنَةٍ، وأَسْرَعُهُمْ إفاقَةً بَعْدَ مُصِيبَةٍ، وأَوْشَكُهُمْ كَرَّةً بَعْدَ فَرَّةٍ وخَيْرُهُمْ لِمِسْكِينٍ ويَتِيمٍ وضَعِيفٍ، وخامِسَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ جَمِيلَةٌ: وأَمْنَعُهُمْ مِن ظُلْمِ المُلُوكِ
Somone said that the prophet said "The Final Hour will come when the Romans are the most numerous people." Amr said to him, “Be careful what you say.” He replied, “I am saying what I heard from the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him.” Amr said, “If you say that, then they possess four qualities: they are the most forbearing of people in times of tribulation, the quickest to recover after a calamity, the most likely to return to fight after fleeing, and the best to the poor, the orphan, and the weak. And a fifth, beautiful quality: they are the most resistant to the oppression of kings.” [translated via Google, slightly edited by myself]

Hold you head high, Westerners. If you still have these Roman qualities for over 1400 years, you'll be end in a good place, at least in this life; as prophesized by Prophet Muhammad PBUH and his companion, Amr Ibn Alaas. To be sure, this is something you are envied for, but also a responsibility for you to resist the oppression of your "kings".
Ps. Amr Ibn Alaas was one of the generals in the Muslim army that fought Romans in the Levant, and his was the commander of the army that fought Romans in Egypt.
