seriously. Talk about a warming trend. Now when you go out you need sunblock, a sun hat, and if you’re out for any length of time, the sun beating down feels fatiguing and enervating. ☀️☀️☀️
#weather my god! It’s everywhere!

Would you rather have the trait of invisibility or insensibility, or both, or neither, and why?
🏡
Not here to argue with the infinite opinions. Not here to “build an audience”, but to literally use this for “notes and other stuff” (maybe I’m here to rebuild my sense of self … after a bunch of changes, experienced as traumatic) ❤️🩹💝
✏️ I would like these to not exist:
- poverty
- pollution in LCOL areas
- factory farms, slaughterhouses
- war
lol, turns out I took a 4 day break from social media which matches up with the 4 days of cloudy (dimmer natural light), rainy, chilly May weather… Now we are in for a warming trend. ☀️
This Spring has been chillier, cloudier, and rainier than last year.
I started a new floor-wiping habit, with the motto of, “on cloudy days, I will wipe the floor”. The first few times, the water turned a rich brown color. I was having some persistent mild allergies (tickle at roof of the mouth) that went away after wiping the floor.
I hope to continue this cleaning habit because not having allergies and breathing normally is amazing. So helpful with meditation practice. I’ve noticed that with meditation, the smallest breathing obstruction, like a stuffy nose, is very distracting, and tiring!
Also started a ‘sort of’ habit of using my colored pencils in a very casual way.
At the gym, I went up the next level of weights … from 15 to 30 lbs. Inspired by an IG video of … an “Indian granny” who started resistance training at an older age and actually got rid of her knee arthritis symptoms through weight lifting.

Minami Kristina | Inner Japan Stories on Instagram: "Not being born into a Japanese family, I’ve always felt like I can’t really see how older people here live — how they spend their time, what they feel, what their days are like.

So when my friend and I were invited for coffee at the home of Kiyoko-san — a Japanese granny living in rural Tochigi Prefecture (about 1.5 hours from Tokyo) — I was nervous.
Why?
Because in general, showing your home to a stranger isn’t very common in Japan. So I felt incredibly honored.
Kiyoko-san lives a simple life alone, next to a mountain hill — which also belongs to her.

From the entrance, you could already feel how warm she is — handmade objects here and there, a very simple but spotless house, with little bursts of color in each corner.
She continued showing us around.
There was a patchwork mat she had made herself — to be used when her time comes to leave this world. (Note: in Japan, these things are usually all white.)
Looking at it, I kept thinking: what kind of feelings did she have while making it, all by herself? It felt like she was preparing to take all her warmth and color with her into the next life.
But it didn’t feel sad.
On the contrary — the way she lives is something I can only admire.
Every day, she keeps a diary — not in words, but in drawings.
Even a small thing, like going to the hospital, becomes a little story.

She notices the small joys of life — like the apple pie she baked especially for us. Or the pieces of old clothes her neighbors gave her, which she turned into waraji (traditional Japanese sandals).
This whole approach to living just… made more sense to me than my own daily rush.
Kiyoko-san is full of happiness and quiet strength.
I hope that one day, I can come just a little closer to feeling life the way she does.
Modern life can be so fast, and give so little.
Spending time with someone from another generation can remind you of that in the deepest way.

I have an Instagram account that I use to browse art. I’m still processing the vibe difference of browsing on art IG compared with browsing the Nostr Bitcoin space. This photo below is a good example of the general attitude on art IG.
Art IG peeps tends to be ~mostly~ women.
Nostr Bitcoin space is predominantly males.
It kinda’ feels like ne’er the twain shall meet.

also need to add - toxic masculinity is a main factor. There are gender-based ways of dealing with ‘anger’. Generally, the context and trigger of anger for men is when their authority or competence is challenged.

Saw a graphic tee message that actually makes sense.
“Discipline is choosing between what you want now and what you want most.”
A black long sleeve shirt, where the D was also black, while the rest of the font was white. So it looked like it said “iscipline”.
I tested it out with the following thought -
I want ice cream now, but I want to reduce my sugar intake most.
