Would you rather have the trait of invisibility or insensibility, or both, or neither, and why? 🏡 Not here to argue with the infinite opinions. Not here to “build an audience”, but to literally use this for “notes and other stuff” (maybe I’m here to rebuild my sense of self … after a bunch of changes, experienced as traumatic) ❤️‍🩹💝 ✏️ I would like these to not exist: - poverty - pollution in LCOL areas - factory farms, slaughterhouses - war

Cont’d notes ~ Conclusion pt. 1 “Bitcoin is the Most Important Human Rights Technology of the 21st Century” Alex Gladstein (Human Rights Foundation) < Bitcoin can go where traditional money can’t > The invention of Bitcoin can be thought of as a parallel to encrypted messaging. In 2010, few human rights activists used encrypted messaging. The tools didn’t exist in the form they do today. 10 years later, in 2020, everybody’s using encrypted messaging. The same thing will happen with Bitcoin from 2020 to 2030. By 2030, it will be the standard currency of human rights activism. This is something that we (in America) are insulated from. A lot of us (13%) come from glowing places, but money is a broken system for most people (87%). Examples of Bitcoin use cases 一 Russia (frozen bank accounts) 一 Ukraine (war refugees bring Bitcoin on an USB) 一 Nigeria (frozen FinTech fundraising apps) 一 Belarus (people used to sew cash into their clothes to go over the border) 一 Venezuela 一 Hong Kong 一 Iran (Mahsa Amini protesters) 一 Afghanistan (Bitcoin is used to fund underground education for girls, which the Taliban has made illegal, beyond Year 6, primary school.) “Education is a key driver of financial stability for families. Lack of access to education perpetuates generational poverty.” (devpolicy.org) 一 North Korea (70% of people who escape are women. They are often pulled into trafficking schemes, and need to be individually rescued. It's very hard to use USD to do this work.) 一 Nicaragua 一 Palestine Conclusion pt. 2 < *Bitcoin* is freedom money, ‘crypto’ is not > “Crypto” in the form of “Stablecoins” can be useful (esp. If you live in Lebanon or Nigeria where you need U.S. dollars). However, stablecoins can still be censored, “rugged” and go to zero, and they can be sanctioned. In fact, stablecoins are growing the role of the State. The systems and rules of stablecoin tokens are controlled by a handful of people. They cannot actually give people free speech and property rights. They do not provide real individual sovereignty. “Crypto” is not a helpful term, because there are so many cryptocurrencies now. Be specific in the type you want to talk about.

I drew a, compost bin. I became personally motivated to compost after watching Avengers: Endgame. At the end of the movie, Pepper Potts is asked by Tony Stark what she’s reading. “A book about composting”, she replied. After the stress and drama of a movie that directly shows loss, grief, mortality, in the form of half the world’s population being turned to dust in a snap by Thanos, I really appreciated this detail. image

welp, I’ve decided to get into drinking matcha again. The bag has expired and is a dark mung bean green rather than the bright green it should be… but according to my research / looking it up, this is fine as long as there is no mold. I also don’t know where that bamboo whisk went to, but really the most crucial tool is the little mesh sifter to sift the powder so it doesn’t clump. 🍵 #teastr image

Did a small ‘note’ / placeholder sketch for the Amphibia title … looked up the reference, and yeah it’s a lot more detail. I knew it was bubble/block lettering, just didn’t remember all the random stylings of each letter. image

I’ve been holding back on taking photos and *especially* videos for at least a month or two now. (Probably longer actually 🫠 I’ve been procrastinating with this similar to how I procrastinate about the yearly blood test). There’s been *a lot* of randomly having to go through text photo attachments and deleting large files … which triggers annoyance, nostalgia, and grieving. It’ll feel really good to take photos freely again. Though I think I’ll try to be more aware of what I send in texts … and what videos I take. It’s so hard not to take long videos of things like: dogs playing at the park, the dog sleeping, the wind blowing through flowers, snow falling at night while passerbys walk by. 😣

ok. My current iphone SE has 64 GB of storage. It keeps getting full. So I’m gonna get a refurbished iphone. I’ll probably get another SE with 128 GB, because storage is really my main and only issue. Why does GPT like to recommend the iphone 13? The price is more than double … and I don’t think whatever special functions it has are really necessary? Like the photos and videos the SE takes are already good.
