Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day is my favorite holiday of the calendar year. Honestly it’s been anything but a peaceful weekend 🧘🏾♀️
In any case, what Dr. King accomplished prior to being assassinated at 39 years old is continually astounding to me. Despite rampant segregation, he earned a high school diploma, a undergraduate degree, a Masters in Divinity and a PhD in Systematic Theology. He lived with a purpose that was integral to his life in all ways. He married, established a home and raised four children, all before he turned 39.
It’s effing incredible. He’s a hero of mine. If you haven’t thought about the holiday before in any meaningful way, I hope you do this year. 🖤🤎🤍
