GM β Thought for the day:
Politicians don't make Bitcoin relevant.
Bitcoin makes politicians irrelevant.
Cypherpunks make Bitcoin.
Be a cypherpunk, ignore the politicians.

If it matters what politician is in office or what bureaucratic "regulations" get imposed, then Bitcoin has already failed.
Focusing on number go up, centralized exchanges to fiat, and political lobbying is not a path to separating money from state or gaining freedom from economic censorship.
Bitcoin works because it is dependent on the laws of physics and number theory, not the laws of men and women.
If whether a former or a current US president attends a bitcoin conference has any impact on bitcoin or the "community" around it, we have strayed far, far away from the path my friends.
Nice. I just imaged a hard drive I pulled from a laptop I decommissioned over 10 years ago. Imported it into a #proxmox VM as a ZFS volume, and it booted up just as if it didn't know it was in the matrix.
Feels like magic, but I'm just catching up to the present.
You fresh and shiny young pups are going to laugh at this old dude, but when I first came to Silicon Valley in the early 90s to work at a networking company, the most common desktop NIC was 10Mbs twisted-pair Ethernet, and 100Mbps was the hot stuff to upgrade to.
Now, 30+ years later, I'm sitting here upgrading my lab to 10Gbs everything, and wondering if it will be fast enough.
I live in the city but close enough to the edge that only a few miles bike ride takes me to some really nice trail systems.

Trying *real* hard to be this guy right now...

GM β
Voting is deliberate consent to the outcome, explicitly granting your sanction to the status quo and the system of threats and force against you and others that back it up.
It is difficult to argue against the injustices stemming from the people ruling over you when you have participated in and perpetuated the very thing that gives them oxygen.

So much space, so little time π

GM β There comes a time when it is better to know someone who knows something than to try to learn that subject oneself.
It's great to have smart friends and colleagues to lean on.
If the success of Bitcoin and its ecosystem is still dependent on or even just affected by which politician or bureaucrat is in office, cypherpunks must write more code.
