Imagine naming your kids after the properties of money? Well, perhaps not naming them, but dressing them up for @HODLween ? Listen to this and other stories from Leigh Ann and @Jason Hodlers 🪢 , homeschooling parents of six kids. If you've ever felt doubt about what it takes to homeschool, this episode is for you. They are truly inspirational! They cover how it feels to get started, using analogies like super-bananas, and general principles, like teaching kids to govern themselves.  Also, since Jason is the ambassador concierge at @Satlantis: Social Events , we preview this Nostr/Bitcoin project at the end of the program.   https://fountain.fm/episode/v3F7z7nJh98roHocbtGJ image

My first only article published on Bitcoin Magazine was "Homeschoolers Are Bitcoiners Who Don't Know It Yet." After attending my first Mises event recently, Austrian economists are also Bitcoiners who don't know it yet. Peter St Onge and Saif remain the famous contrarians. image

Everyone here on nostr has probably been frustrated at one time or another sharing Bitcoin. But it should be fun! That's why our Louisville meetup is adding Bitcoin game events between our monthly BitDevs. First one is now scheduled 🫡 image

It’s passion, not a teaching degree, that unlocks education.  Bridgette Johnson creatively meets kids where they are, e.g., dealing with developmentally delayed, non-verbal, traumatized, beaten, autistic, et al.  She is a grandmother entrepreneur!  She is starting her own preschool based on how kids really learn, not based on fiat curriculums.  This includes money literacy and so much more.  @Tali | Orange Hatter and I are inspired ... you’re going to really enjoy this episode.  image

Watching people open up to Bitcoin, including my wife, while playing HODL UP is one of the best feelings in the world. It's cool and humbling at the same time. To help others do the same, I'm in the process of capturing the many ways the game reflects Bitcoin in short videos. Eventually I'll turn these into a free-and-open-source course. The first few of what will likely be 20 - 30 videos in total are now in Github in the "Free and Open Source Education (FOSE) Foundation" repository. Happy Hodling! For those on the fence about homeschooling, it's as natural as parenting. Authentic and impactful teaching requires passion and commitment, not superficial credentials or fiat "standards". Parents already have all the tools they need to raise and teach their kids, without any help from state-approved "subject matter experts". Just ask @Jason Hodlers 🪢 @Tali | Orange Hatter image

Young parents and soon to be parents, commit to try homeschooling. Just try it. You have nothing to lose and an unbelievable amount to gain. Homeschooling has asymmetrical upside to unleash children's potential and nourish natural parent-child relationships. Unlike what the administrative state would like parents to believe, children are resilient. Their ability to adapt quickly minimizes the "risks" of trying homeschooling. Not unironically, homeschooled kids have greater opportunity vis-a-vis the most common FUD, academics and socialization. image

It's frustrating sometimes when explaining #bitcoin to friends, family or acquaintances. There is so much to communicate in a such a short period of time. That's why I'm building a library of super-short videos to explain through the HODL UP game. Today I cover timechain from 2009 - 2140. Hope it helps! Cheers!

It is a first principle concept that parents have the right to raise and educate their children. And whether you are a parent or not, it is in your self-interest to support the separation of education of state. Every authoritarian leader in history pursued control of kids for a reason. It is a pillar of Marxist thought that totalitarian regimes embrace. #sovereigneducation image

Austrian economists are bitcoiners who don't know it yet. The exceptions, of course, are Peter St Onge (is he on nostr?) and @Saifedean Ammous. Last night I added an Austrian economics event to the #bitcoin #homeschool and game conferences I've experienced. This was a Mises Institute dinner with their president Tom DiLorenzo the headline speaker. These are super nice people and all libertarian-minded but their reception to my bitcoin inquiries was pretty cool to tepid at best. image
