How do you personally stay positive knowing most of modern society is rotten and wicked?

Maybe we're just an idea of some reality experiencing itself. A dream with no thinking subject if you will. It kinda defies Descarte's "cogito ergo sum" but frankly, I don't see why an idea couldn't experience itself...

What if the rapture already happened but god erased the memorries of the chosen ones?
