6 days in with Emacs... I've used it daily. I've mostly got the hang of the basic keybindings I use most: New Frame, Save, Previous screen, Next screen, Copy/Cut/Paste. Also, using it to browse, open and manage files. I can see the allure of using it for all the things. Definitely going to keep at it. Curious about using it for email but the set-up looks like quite an involved process. #Emacs #Linux image
Twelve-year-old Rahaf Ayad is so malnourished she can barely speak. Her hair is falling out. Her ribs protrude. She can hardly move her limbs. She blinks slowly, her eyelids heavy... And, predictably, a host of prominent pundits chimed in. ... https://beardystarstuff.net/2023/08/31/the-ipad-discussion.html
"Extreme weather events and our warming planet are primed to strike commodities and the food supply like never before. The recent global heat wave, deadly floods across China’s grain belt and wildfires that spanned several continents have put a spotlight on how climate change may wreak havoc on the world’s most-consumed food crops. Studies show that future climate projections indicate significant reductions of crop yields in high-risk regions." #ClimateEmergency https://www.axios.com/2023/08/07/climate-commodities-food-supply
Adventures in RSS apps! Warning: What lies ahead is a lot of rambling about nitpicky details that may bore anyone who is not me to tears. Proceed with caution. My exploration of RSS apps seems never ending. I'm sure I'm not the only one who never seems to be able to find the perfect RSS app (the same is true of writing/notes apps). Years ago I used NetNewsWire on the Mac and it held for a very long time. Then as I spent more time on the iPad there were... #ipad https://beardystarstuff.net/2023/08/05/adventures-in-rss.html image
