What's sillier: Christopher Nolans Casio tv or Denis Villeneuve viewfinder Stumpled upon this thread of Christopher Nolans carrying around this silly little portable casio tv: ![](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GVmqAkoXgAAF2GO?format=jpg&name=medium) I find it really silly. It for sure is both worse quality and harder to set the tech up than just an ipad or laptop connected to the station. But it reminded me of Denis Villeneuves obsession with these silly little directors viewfinders: ![](https://static1.cbrimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/how-denis-villeneuve-became-the-kwisatz-haderach-the-dune-franchise-needed.jpg) It's only a stick to attach the lens to. He can't be bothered to look with his eyes or stand behind the camera man. No, mr artist neeeds to look through the genuine lenses that gets used in the shoot. originally posted at

We texted 1,000 Americans about Trump’s tariffs. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/interactive/2025/trump-tariffs-poll-us-economy/ ![](https://m.stacker.news/80826) > The Washington Post is trying to better answer that question by conducting quick polls, in which we text about 1,000 Americans after a breaking news event and publish their answers within 24 to 36 hours. TLDR: People approve/disapprove around 50/50 with slightly more people disapprove. The tariffs on Mexico and Canada is more unpopular than the strategy of tariffs more generally. The most divergence is about concern for the consequences: 75% are concerned. In other words: It's not at all a rare combination to approve of the strategy despite being concerned about the consequences. I find this quite striking. ![](https://m.stacker.news/80827) originally posted at
