Nostr has revitalized my love of the web. it's refreshing to see so many weird internet natives getting passionate about things and iterating so quickly. i've never really been a 'social media' type. the goal for people in many networks is to BE SEEN and SAY THE COOL THING and that's just really boring to me.

i've noticed i care very much what i say at the beginning of using a new social media account. but as i use it i feel more comfortable speaking my truth. the curve is much smaller here on Nostr. either that or i'm just desperate for a way to express myself. i wouldn't count out the latter. but Nostr is rather freeing in it's implementation. thanks, @@fiatjaf, for that at least.

i'm not convinced Lightning is *the way*.

i'm done with Damus for the time being. using only Rabbit. it would be nice if the timeline went back a little further, but i don't hate it either. infinite scroll is a curse, honestly. a genie wish that has soured. and if i want to see more posts, i can look at individual user feeds or search for things which is much improved on Rabbit compared to my experiences with Damus. no shade on Damus, just preferences.

when i am translating my Rabbit page, it queers my 🤦‍♀️ into 🤦 inconsequential but funny and weirdly affirming! also, translation seems to completely bork the posting text field, like it is expecting Japanese input but receiving them ABCs.

we cannot reach perfection. we all have our separate portion of Universe and our understanding is therefore woefully incomplete. the Nostr version of this is finding the good relays. unfortunately, paid relays denominated in Lightning sats create a self-selected, insular cohort. good for spam, bad for ideas. we need our eyes open wide for our own sakes.
