Keir Starmer (the manager) has clearly felt the pressure from the board and fans, keeping his position by the skin of his teeth after some poor recent performances. The team sheet has been completely rewritten at half time, with players switching positions all over the pitch. Rachel Reeves stays put as goalkeeper (Chancellor), although her position will be revised if she concedes anymore open goals. There's been a major defensive reshuffle - David Lammy has moved from right-back (Foreign Secretary) into the center of defence as Justice Secretary and will also step up as captain (Deputy PM). Meanwhile, the midfield has seen significant changes with Shabana Mahmood dropping back from central midfield (Justice) to left-back (Home Secretary), and Yvette Cooper pushing forward from defence (Home) into central midfield (Foreign Secretary). But the biggest tactical change is the "super sub" Pat McFadden, who's been given a roving playmaker role, taking over as Work and Pensions Secretary while also controlling the team's training ground operations (skills remit from Education Department). The formation has shifted dramatically with Steve Reed moving from the wing (Environment) into defence (Housing), and several other positional switches across the pitch. The manager has had to make some harsh decisions, sending three players home (until they're needed again): Lucy Powell has been dropped (Leader of the House of Commons), Ian Murray has been sent for an early bath from his key defensive role (Scotland Secretary), and most notably, Angela Rayner has been sent 'Home' after that costly £800,000 stamp duty error that left the team exposed. One things for certain. This team needs to buck up their ideas or they'll face relegation this year.
