Great practical home mining advice, Jon. Well into my 3rd decade as a mechanical engineer (we are indeed getting old!), over engineering anything is a big pet peeve of mine and I beat that mental model into my teams. Gall’s Law comes to mind: always start simple and only add complexity once you have high confidence in the foundational design or setup. Ego has no place in a designer’s thinking if a system needs to ‘just work’.
I also heat simply shunt any excess heat in my space with a thermostat controlled damper.
As for Jack, the modular design is cool but unproven in the field.
