An important thing for #Nostr users is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing.

JBBA papers from 2024 have already started being cited in multi-centre Blockchain research studies. Every day, someone somewhere in the world reads and quotes the #JBBA in their work. @The British Blockchain Association #Blockchain image

Whats interesting in Nostr is that the Relays don’t have to be trusted. Signatures are verified on the client side. #Nostr #Blockchain

Found this 2019 Nostr white paper from Fiatjaf, its founder. It is incredibly well written. It follows the classical evidence-based blockchain approach: PICO P = What is the Problem? C = Comparison (existing solutions) I = Intervention (Nostr) O = Outcome (How will the new solution achieve better outcomes than existing solutions) The text is easy to understand, explains why the world needs Nostr, and how it works (for even non-tech people). The writing style shows all great inventors and innovators have one thing in common: They have a crystal clear vision of what they want, and how to get there. (Writing style reminds me of Steve Jobs or Satoshi Nakamoto).

We need to understand that we are dealing with a global, infrastructure-level technology - an entire network of consortiums and communities are being built on top of it – a community of entrepreneurs and innovators, who can bring real societal and economic benefits to the UK economy. The UK must seize this opportunity to stay competitive and ahead of the curve. There is no time to waste. View quoted note →

I have 5 issues with this graph: 1. It ignores external factors, such as regulatory clarity and socio-geo-political factors that can affect #Web3 adoption (there are wide regional variations in Web3 adoption. We need a Gartner cycle for each country!) 2. Web3 adoption and maturity have been non-linear, with many variables influencing its trajectory that this model doesn't fully capture. We cannot plot the complex Web3 journey into a simple linear chart. 3. This is a *subjective* analysis, not objective. There can be bias and inconsistencies. There is ambiguity in the definition of the terms. For example, "Peak of Inflated Expectations," - whose expectations? Industry, end users or innovators? "Trough of Disillusionment": Who exactly is disillusioned? So these terms have to be interpreted differently depending on the context or the person using the framework. 4. It lacks Predictive Power. This chart doesn't necessarily predict the success or failure of a Web3, just its position relative to expectations and adoption. 5. Why do we focus so much on Hype and not IMPACT? Web3 might experience hype without having real substance, or might be valuable to many firms and economies but remain under the radar. In short, there is too much generalisation. Exercise caution when using this as a definitive guide for decision-making. #Gartner #Hype #Blockchain #Web3 #Crypto image

I suggested to my friend to join Nostr. He feels there are currently either too many posts about Bitcoin or about various applications and updates of #Nostr itself. How do we bring (and keep) new general public to Nostr who talks about life in general, and diverse topics related to art, business, emerging tech, health, research & education, social good, philanthropy, geopolitics, environment or sports etc? #AskNostr #SocialMedia
