I'm enjoying the arguments @npub1ktug...cyc7 makes in his latest free book "the last economy". Arguing that GDP is exactly the wrong measure for economics in a world with AI, AGI, ASI. Also steel/strawmans and dismantles most of the prevailing narratives. I suspect it would align closely with @Jeff Booth views. https://www.symbioism.com/?ref=ghost.ii.inc Caveat: I'm only 40% thru. I can see one math guy on Twitter challenging that the mathematical basis is missing. @npub1ktug...cyc7 says its coming.
Our family has had its own google workspace for over a decade. A month ago I set a goal to have drive, photos, email, every-frickin-thing migrated to sovereign tech by the end of the year. Start9, syncthing, Borg and Rclone for multilevel/multisite backups. Its a slog. Its a big slog. But if we don't do it the AI convenience trap will hook us deeper.
Today would have been Jonathan Postel's birthday (the guy in my banner). Thank him for open protocols and probably the original cipherpunk/hippie act - as he conned ownership of root DNS for a week (using only email**). 😆 Jon Postel - Wikipedia https://share.google/Xwmy6HCBpamZtZS6d ** RFC 753, RFC 821
Ive been thinking that China company's open source AI is soft power in action when the US based AI arms race is mostly closed source (more on that later). Did you know Kissinger visited Xi in 2023 to discuss AI hegemonies? Found an interesting quote from the link below which is obvious in hindsight. "Instead, they’re (Chinese AI companies) working within carefully curated datasets sanctioned by Beijing. One such example: a government-approved “mainstream values corpus,” built largely from state media content, designed to keep public-facing A.I. models ideologically aligned"
Pro account sharers FYI. I doubt this affects solutions like mapleai as they likely use APIs. image
