StashPay - A minimalist Bitcoin wallet for everyone
StashPay makes sending and receiving your first Bitcoin easy for newcomers and powerful for advanced users.
StashPay is now Open Source. I wrote about licensing, business models and removing myself and 3rd party vendors as single points of failure:

StashPay is now Open Source
In bitcoin building open source is more than a licensing decision. It is an acknowledgement that we are all corruptible given the right incentives.
Nice! Already tested paying the first BOLT12 offer from Phoenix last week. Can't wait to get this out to StashPay testers ⚡️🙌 View quoted note →
If you’re building stuff to please/impress others you’ll burn out and resent them.
Building products for yourself is extremely rewarding. If others find them useful too, great. If they’re willing to pay, even better.
But don’t go out trying to rescue the world. Otherwise you’ll get stuck in the drama triangle.
And be grateful for your haters. It means you’re doing something people care about.
“I’m not here to fit in. I’m here to be who I am.”
Building and learning out in the open is extremely rewarding if you can put your ego aside. You can iterate quickly. You also get real time signals whether your ideas are any good. If people copy them, it means you’re onto something. This is particularly interesting in bitcoin where everyone basically holds the same equity. You can move the industry in a direction you think is worth exploring as a single bootstrapped indie hacker.
Just flashed LineageOS on my old Pixel 3a and installed StashPay via Zapstore. I'm amazed how fast the device is now and not a single Google App in sight 😌

Now also on @Zapstore 💜

I spent the last 7 days in a never ending loop with Apple developer support. Can’t wait to finally invite the first batch to the StashPay TestFlight.
