Agent mode in vscode is awesome. Best of both worlds. Let the AI do the coding but also fix it quickly when it hallucinates. It’s like delegating feature tickets to a junior dev while allowing me to focus on reviewing/merging and architecture. I also find it easier to get the thing I want by making specific prompts than vibe coding the whole thing. Plus I still have an understanding of the code and can keep eye on security/privacy.
I just implemented fiat currency selection in StashPay this way. Also asked the AI to sort the listed currencies in the UI by global usage to reduce the time users need to select their desired currency. It sorted them by global demand and forex market volume.
Such a powerful tool to get high quality results with a quick iteration cycle.
This is one of the most beautiful documentaries of self-discovery I’ve seen. James’ story resonates with me since I hit a similar wall in my mid 30s. Definitely worth a watch if you’re looking for inspiration:
“Above all, don't lie to yourself. The man who lies to himself and listens to his own lie comes to such a pass that he cannot distinguish the truth within him, or around him, and so loses all respect for himself and for others. And having no respect he ceases to love.”
Fyodor Dostoevsky
