I am going to be mostly offline for a few days as I am away from usual domicile on business. I have also mostly vacated X because of the flood tide of fake news and slop that got far worse since the Iran War started. Mostly I avoid interacting with the feed at all, and instead bookmark the accounts that I do follow, and then visit those links directly - basically treating it like a microblog service now when I do go. Also, a semi-digital detox will do me good - i haven't had a proper dopamine fast in some time and it is needed as I have some irl things needing urgent attention. Salaam.

As an addendum to what I said concerning free speech: the USA is of course not the only one cracking down. As we have now entered the long-awaited hot phase of WW3, free speech has been under attack worldwide on all fronts. If the situation is bad here in America, it is worse in Canada, the UK, Australia, and the EU. It is worse still in Russia, where they have recently built the most aggressive web censorship apparatus in history, surpassing China's. So, in this context, I would not expect much free speech in the coming years, including much repression on all the major platforms yet again. This is why we need to keep the lights on at Nostr.

Interview with Alexander Dugin on the Iran War. Yes, he's some religious nut weirdo, but this is a more realistic analysis than anything I read in the Western world.
