Day 113 of #100pushups until #Bitcoin hits $100k. 34x3 throughout the day + legs at the gym I’ll admit I’m a little addicted to #nostr. I find myself refreshing the feed several times a minute to see if there’s something new posted.

The claim that #bitcoin has no “intrinsic value”, besides its scarcity, is senseless. Sure, a bitcoin might not be a physical coin (even though electrons and bits in logic gates on a computer are equally as real as the atoms in a gold bullion), but the service Bitcoin provides is valuable. It’s the only money that is on a decentralized and verifiable open ledger; the only money that’s infinitely divisible; the only money that can be held in one’s head across time and space; the only money that’s non-inflationary (and in some instances deflationary); the only money that is cryptographically secure; the only money that is purposefully engineered to be money; and much more. “Bitcoin doesn’t physically exist, it has no value.” If that’s true then no piece of information ever has any value — that’s a verifiably false assumption (philosophy, language, science…)

As long as money is controlled by the government we will never have a free monetary system. All this talk about [lowering or raising] interest rates is to make you forget that government shouldn’t be in control of the economy at all. “I don't believe we shall ever have good money again before we take the thing out of the hands of government...” F. A. Hayek This was #gold, but it failed; the government took it. This is #bitcoin, and it is winning; the government will never take it.
