The control over Earth's surface and natural resources are decentralized across ~190 different countries because humans have made it a habit to physically compete over territory. The authority to write Bitcoins ledger is decentralized because Satoshi gave us a way to physically compete using electricity over that authority. The complex emergent benefit of physical power competitions is security and decentralization of control. Whether that is control over territory, or control over a ledger in cyberspace, physical power competitions are the key to achieving both security and decentralization of any resource. Humans have been engaging in proof-of-work for thousands of years to achieve security and decentralized control over the resources they value. Satoshi took that concept and in the digital age gave us a way to continue that tradition in a non-lethal way over a new highly valuable resource, bits of information passed over the internet. This innovation has the potential to completely upend the way we think about organizing civilization in such profound ways that it's difficult to imagine today.. but those thinkers are beginning to emerge and a new renaissance is upon us. I can't think of a more exciting time to be alive than this century. It's an honor and a privilege to be among you.

Bitcoin is a new form of revolutionary warfare.. and I really appreciate @jack mallers for all he's doing in the trenches. His talks he gives at venues like the bitcoin conference are always the ones I look forward to the most. He cuts through all the financial jargon and just tells it like it is.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of fiat, I will fear no banker: for thou art with me; thy bitaxe and thy hardware wallet they comfort me.

My brother's birthday is coming up and I can't think of anything better to get him than knowledge about the future of money. He called me today and we talked for quite awhile where he was asking me all sorts of questions about Bitcoin and he told me he's not going to be left behind. I've given my first orange pill. image

It might take much longer than many people think to flip gold. I think the world is headed back to sound money but gold and Bitcoin will Duke it out for quite a long time.

I tried to explain to my dad that 1oz of gold = 1oz of gold and the fact that it's hitting ATHs is just because the dollar is becoming worth less. He doesn't like to talk about it and that's fascinating to me.
