Having a Lightning web wallet that *also* holds your Nostr keys is such a killer setup. Lightning Login, Lightning Address, Nostr Login, Nostr verification, zaps, and payments. All in one place. Makes using Nostr and Lightning apps such a joy. https://kollider.xyz/wallet

Maybe this is a long-shot, but maybe not. Lots of evidence recently about social media and its negative effects on mental health, especially that of teens. It's pretty compelling stuff. Does Nostr offer an opportunity to fundamentally change social media for the better? I'm honestly not sure, but if we can do it we should try.

Lately I've been thinking a lot about how we can get the word out about Nostr beyond Bitcoin Twitter echo chambers. Not to mass onboard users-- I still think it's too early for that. But to get more developers and builders interested. I've talked to a lot of people lately who are fairly knowledgeable about crypto, tech, etc who have zero idea what Nostr is. I think there are a lot of people who will find Nostr extremely interesting, not just because of the Bitcoin angle, but because of an interest in free speech, open communication protocols, cryptography, etc. How do we reach them?

#[0] do you have a link to the Fiatjaf "how Jack's money is being used" doc you mentioned on the podcast? I can't find it.

Moment of appreciation for Nostr. Still blows my mind when I use it. A decentralized open communications protocol that’s forming a symbiotic relationship with Bitcoin. Built by a grassroots community, no tokens or VCs involved. Wild.

My biggest persistent problem with Nostr these days is that I’ll follow someone, and then randomly later I won’t be following them. Anyone have insights into how to fix this?

Are any paid relays operating on a pay-per-use model? Or is everything now based on a one-time admission fee?

The thing that excites me most about the future of Nostr is the algorithm market. Never before have social algorithms been subject to market forces. Either you like Twitter, IG, etc’s algorithm or you have to leave. Nostr will allow people to pick and choose. Want content sorted by likes? Sorted by zaps? Filtered through a web of trust? Unfiltered and raw? You can have any and all of that. And I can’t wait to see the user experiences it produces.

Is anyone interested in joining a small, high-signal Nostr group chat on Telegram? I’m putting one together. DM me and let me know.

KEEP NOSTR WEIRD! (for now) Right now, Nostr *should* be niche. There are too many things to figure out, UX hurdles to cross, etc before any attempt should be made to mass onboard users. I’ve already seen the churn amongst people I know and have recommended it to. For now, Nostr is for builders and early adopters. But eventually…

Is Zion doing anything that can't be done better with Nostr?
