Your right to privacy is at stake. The new FinCEN proposal assumes guilty until proven innocent and aims to put restrictions on using code. Nothing new, and unsurprising, but infuriating. They want total control. Freedom of the individual is becoming more and more of an illusion every day.

Thoughts on onboarding people to nostr: It’s all about incentives and experience. 1. Familiar terminology and experience is important, especially for nocoiners. For builders: Creating onboarding experiences within clients and user experiences that feel similar to what people are used to elsewhere. Clones of other clients is a good place to start and solving for the public/private key-pair, even with some sort of custodial solution, will be necessary to get new normie users. For nostr users: using terminology that normies are used to (ie: app or platform in place of client, etc.) 2. Bitcoiners are motivated by the decentralization but if the person you’re trying to purple pill isn’t a bitcoiner and doesn’t value decentralization, focus on showing them how they can make money from posting (even shitposting) might motivate them. Convenience of interoperability and portability between various types of clients could be a good motivator too. 3. Who’s incentivized to use nostr? Creators and influencers who rely on social media to make a living. Especially those who have been de-platformed at some point. Social media managers who make a living off of social media. Especially those who are trying to build their career.
