🇬🇧 Banning VPNs for safety... the upside down world. Not clear how they will manage to enforce it but trying to make them illegal is already bad enough... image

🇪🇺 📰 The EU plans to have a back door into all E2EE apps by 2030 is no joke, they have been pushing for it for years now, the latest document is quite clear, dated May 2024. Here the link to the "GOING DARK" initiative with a 42 points plan: https://cdn.netzpolitik.org/wp-upload/2024/06/2024-05-22-Recommendation-HLG-Going-Dark-c.pdf #### Summary of the document for the ones with little time to read: The document discusses challenges faced by law enforcement in accessing data for criminal investigations in the digital age, particularly regarding encryption and data retention. It outlines 42 recommendations clustered in three areas: - Capacity building measures - Cooperation with industry and standardization - Legislative measures ***Key issues addressed include:*** - Lack of cross-border cooperation on digital forensic tools - Difficulties with accessing and decrypting data from user devices - Challenges with data retention and access to data in provider systems - Need for cooperation with industry and standardization efforts - Proposals for legislative changes to improve lawful access to data ***As usual the EU politicians are clueless:*** The document recognizes the challenges posed by VPNs and E2EE messenger apps to law enforcement while emphasizing the importance of balancing these challenges with fundamental rights, data protection, and security considerations. ***Now laugh a bit:*** The recommendations focus on cooperation, standardization, and legislative measures to address these issues effectively. So... They will end up banning apps with no back door and making it illegal for users to use apps with no back doors. This will not end well. It is moronic, black hats are for sure salivating about it.

🇶🇦🇪🇺Qatar threatens to stop EU gas sales if fined under due diligence law, FT reports By Reuters LONDON, Dec 22 (Reuters) - Qatar would stop shipping gas to the European Union if member states strictly enforce a new law on forced labour and environmental damage, Energy Minister Saad al-Kaabi told the Financial Times in an interview published on Sunday. image The level of incompetence of the EU leaders is already unbelievable, they damaged their economy beyond repair sanctioning their major energy supplier. Now they are buying gas and oil much expensier and threatening those new provoders to follow their environmental and labor standards... Their level of stupidity has no limits... If they were not in an economic recession, divided and in a geopolitical disaster I will say, well they can try, although is obviously disrespectful to tell other nations how to conduct their business...

### Lumo First Impressions **The Good:** - Excellent privacy, end to end encrypted chat with no logs, all chats are stored on your device. - Ghost mode for one time chats. - You can upload docs for Lumo tp analyze as per your instructions. - There is a free tier, you don't need to login to use it. - The current paid users of proton Unlimited and duo have access to Lumo Plus. image **The Bad:** - The Android app is too raw missing features. - On Android, using my own private VPN, it won't connect and therefore the app does not open, the irony... But... Using the same VPN and accessing Lumo with the browser works perfectly... Why to block the use of the VPN on the mobile itself is quite odd, still scratching my head about it... - You can't upload images, video or audio for analysis. - Does not create images or videos. - The paid tier is pricey image Did you tried? What are your thoughts? #Lumo #firstImpressions #askNostr

It amuses me the young coders calling out Vibe Coding when we have been doing that for so many years, it was just harder since we needed to fork or analyze the code of others building our own libraries of reusable code... Not so long ago someone coined the phrase Google Coding... now with AI is Vibe Coding, things evolve but don't change much. If you are an experience coder it is most helpful, if you are an amateur or a wanna be, it will be challenging, you learning curve will be impacted but with proper discipline you will get there faster than your predecessors did

I was researching what percentage of hacking happens due to insider criminal behavior. I was surprised to learn that 25% of hacking incidents involve malicious insiders. Normally human error involves most of the issues but the criminal factor seems to be growing. Centralization is a problem when your data is on the hands of employees, they may decide to sell your data or be incompetent and let the system vulnerable to external access. #hacking

UNESCO: United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization - Is a specialized agency of the United Nations. - It was founded in 1945 and is headquartered in Paris, France. - Aims to promote world peace and security through international cooperation in education, the sciences, and culture. What it means for the UNESCO the USA withdrawn? Besides the obvious, which is the funding (being USA the highest contributor), it signifies a shift in the dynamics of international cooperation in education, science, and culture, with potential long-term effects specially in global initiatives. For now it will mean less influence from USA in the spheres of education and science, Why? Because money talks...

EU continues entering the 1984 Orwellian fascist status... ***Check this out:*** The Spanish government is considering a law that would require a minimum of two people per vehicle in an effort to reduce traffic congestion, particularly in major cities. In addition to this two-person rule, other measures are being discussed, such as limiting car ownership to one vehicle per household and charging fees for non-resident vehicles on certain roads. ***Welcome to the reality of Europe, and for those who think that they will not move forward with it...*** , think again... With little to no consultation nor resistance from the passive people. Fee years back the same government implemented a law that legally forbids you from driving your car in tagged major Urban areas unless is electrical or hybrid, and a limited for those newer vehicles with "low contaminant sticker" (bull shit, a Hummer is okay because has a big second battery, yet... it is a CO2 abomination). The whole law is to support the pockets of few conglomerates epically screwing the population. For those of Gen X that bought their vehicles Diesel (more efficient engine and economical , quite common in Europe), do not get a pass sticker, meaning, ***YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DRIVE THE CAR IN URBAN AREAS UNLESS YOU LIVE THERE.*** So most Gen X and pensioners that can't afford to buy a new car got epically screwed if they needed to commute to any of those tagged Urban areas for work or recurrent services. And the majority of the European Millenials and Gen Z (Gen 404) with their eyes glued to their mobiles and their asses glued to their couch do not push back, saddly Gen 404 and Gen Alpha will live a very distopian reality, I hope we will see a change but it seems unlikely. ***Infuriating...*** image

This world needs the Milenials and the X generation healthy and productive until their late 70s... Generation Z should be called Generarion 404 instead... Generations: - Baby Boomers (1946–1964, ~18 years) Shaped by post-WWII prosperity and the Cold War. - Generation X (1965–1980) Economic and cultural shifts of the early 1980s. - Millennials (1981–1996, ~15 years) Grew up during the rise of the internet and 9/11. - Generation Z (1997–2012, ~15 years) I call it Gen 404... Defined by smartphones and social media. - Generation Alpha (2013–mid 2020s) Tied to the proliferation of AI and touchscreen technology, with its end point still being debated.
