And now for the last one: I came up with an idea two days ago and announced it on /r/emacs. It's a colouring system for items in #dired #Emacs. Almost none of my programmer friends could figure out why I would want to colour files different, which is funny because I can't think of a perfect system which *doesn't* use colours like this. But somebody made it for me and it's now available and it works great. πŸ’– Thank you Karthink! Dired-Delight https://github.com/karthink/dired-delight

I have a few minutes to spare, so I've finally started learning #elisp coding for #Emacs with what appear to be amazing videos from the very capable and awesome teacher nostr:npub1w66s7p9m6ye68r8ruahta9h3vuf9pckrsewgutg4rwfgdetf4skskhrc58 This series is also for total newbies who do not know how to code. Highly recommended! πŸ‘ Page here: https://systemcrafters.net/learning-emacs-lisp/ YouTube Videos here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQK_DaaX34Q&list=PLEoMzSkcN8oPQtn7FQEF3D7sroZbXuPZ7 #Emacs #elisp #system #crafters #programming #code

Okay, while this comes from Teen Vogue, it's not really about fashion. It's more about history and art. And I love it. This is a great article. There's a lot to learn here. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ Teen Vogue: LGBTQ Flags: The History and Symbolism of 23 Flags https://www.teenvogue.com/story/lgbtq-flags-history-symbolism #lgbtq #pride #TransRightsAreHumanRights #flag #colorful #history

nostr:npub1fh867284lmk6vhtmxe43dqrw9s9axljules5gkr6spxueg9398ls2chm0p Hi! I just had a silly idea in System Crafters chat: Somebody (maybe you?) ought to create a package which hooks chatgpt-shell to talk to mu4e and auto-generate and send emails as replies to a list of email addresses you don't feel like dealing with. πŸ˜€ #Emacs #mu4e #chatgpt #package

Even more for my #Emacs peeps: Do you use Denote? I do, and you probably should to! And if you do, here's a quick and easy way to add .gpg filetypes to Denote. TBH, encryption gives me a headache every time I try to do something with it. I'm glad this is pretty easy though: Yes, Mike will do: Daily Notes for 2023-06-04 https://mike.puddingtime.org/posts/2023-06-04-daily-notes/ #Emacs #encryption #gpg #elisp #weareallgeeksandweknowit

Okay, I don't wanna get all hyperbolic here, but I don't think I am when I say: You know who else banned and burned books they found offensive to their cultural traditions? Nazis. BTW I know I just got here and I got a number of followers from my #Emacs post, and I promise I'll try to keep the Taylor Swift coverage to an extremely minimal level because I know most people following me are probably not that interested. I get it. πŸ˜€

Okay, for the #Emacs people again: GitHub: A Full Explanation of How I Use Emacs https://github.com/summeremacs/howiuseemacs/blob/main/full-explanation-of-how-i-use-emacs.org I wrote this because a few people have been asking me to since about a year. So you can see it's GTD based and that I end up with a lot of very useful lists. I use lists of things for everything (shopping, fave foods, ingredients to get/buy, fave songs, shows I am following etc). I'm going to pin this in case it helps others out there. I know that it's helped some people already.
