Is that actually an iOS issue that every now and then I have problems with my clients (yes, in plural)? - Incoming DMs that are only visible after days; - Not seeing notes that you earlier saw on any of your clients or sometimes on one client yes, but not in the other? - zaps sometimes not being sent even though you first saw the badge under the note… #asknostr

(Correcting my grammar slaughter, lol) Attended an event for Communications/ Social Media professionals (which I myself am not, but that’s another story.) One of the ice breakers was “What’s your most used app?” Instagram was the most mentioned app, followed by TikTok. I noticed that a few months ago I would’ve answered the same - Instagram. But since I uninstalled the app, my usage of messengers (WhatsApp and Telegram) as well as Spotify grew. I gently started to talk about Nostr at my table. Nobody knew it. When I explained that you can change clients without losing your following/ follower lists and notes(I said apps to simplify), one person reacted with: “That’s strange!” 🤷🏽‍♀️ This said, I must say I like ‘s approach. We have to be clever about the discourse around Nostr to attract more users. View quoted note →

Nobody asked for my opinion and maybe some people will have better ideas to add up, but as a PO for a Nostr client, I wouldn’ see much value in on-chain zaps. But f they’d need to exist for a reason as “we’d like to be able to send higher amounts of sats per transaction”, my requirements would be to: - check feasibility of creating a built-in online wallet that is decoupled from npub/nostr nsec. It shouldn’t be mandatory for all users using the client, but rather an optional feature, with the Lightning wallet (native or connected via NWC) being the standard. Its acceptance can be requested at the setup of the client, but it should als be available in the settings for users who decide to adhere later; - ideally, users could be able to connect their existing on-chain wallets of choice to the client as an option; - enable silent/ anonymous payments or ideally enabling the possibility of generating single-use addresses, decoupling transactions from Nostr npub; - The user should receive an alert about the fees involved before confirming/signing the transaction; - The transaction would only be feasible to another on-chain wallet (but I understand this is already the case). - of course in a decentralised system there will be no terms of service or liability, but there could be some kind of tooltip or FAQ explaining to non-tech-savy users what is the difference between on-chain and Lightning to enable informed decisions. What would you suggest?

So, I’m now in the final research for my first node, I think. I plan to buy a mini-pc with i5 processor, 32GB, 2TB (extendable, I flirt with extending it to 4TB). From all I read, it seems a good setup to start with and use it as a home server for files, some dev/ AI experimenting and a BTC/ Lightning node. I’m still undecided regarding the OS. Umbrel vs Start OS, what’s your recommendation and why? #asknostr

GN🌙 Being an adult sucks sometimes. But we stand up, somehow try to self-medicate, heal. We function, because when we don’t… nobody is there to do what we’re supposed to do - unless we’re gone for good, in that case others always find a way… Sometimes we call it solitude and think how strong we are for putting up with ourselves. But sometimes it’s just fucking lonely.

GN🌙 🎶 I was unfortunately too sick to attend @Horszt ' s concert today, but lucky enough to get a private rehearsal of “Baba Yetu” - the Swahili version of the Lord’s Prayer, according to online sources, a song composed for the video game Civilization IV. It made me a bit emotional, remembering that when I sang this with a choir, he was very little. I think he did quite well, don’t you think?
