Q: Are you the first in your family or friend group to get into Bitcoin? If not, how far down the chain are you (2nd, 3rd, etc.)? Have others you know irl been joining you on the journey? I’m curious about adoption network effects. In my case, video gamer friends from other countries (whom I’ve never met irl) convinced me to mine a little a few years back. It took a couple of years for me to actually take a serious look at bitcoin. A few of my family started after a 3-4 years of tolerating me poking. A few more this past couple of years A small cohort of friends joined in. Probably about a dozen have taken to bitcoin at my suggestion I field a lot of questions, a couple of times we’ve hosted on-boarding parties at my home. Most still think I’m crazy. Some are surprised to hear that I mine for heat. #bitcoin #adoption #orangepill #friends

Mine4Heat Update. I added a couple of receptacles on dedicated circuits for the miners. Installed some additional duct work Some tuning with the fan speeds. Updated billing plan with the power company for a flat rate. So far so good.

Fountain.fm had a significant update - and it looks good 👍 This app has my attention- what it needs most is more music content Seems like they’ve got the podcast realm worked out. If you know some musicians who could benefit, encourage them to consider this app. Myles and I are gonna figure how to upload some of his catalog. If it goes well, I’ll start bugging other musician friends to join in.

A lot of Nostr client updates this year. They’ve all been steadily evolving. Each has their own set of features, aesthetics and quirks. Damus is still my daily driver. I think because of the way it feels. Predictable, easy to navigate and read. Primal is slick, possibly the most mainstream but some (like Canadians) will not be able to use the wallet. The search and firehose feed stand out. Nostur is quickly evolving. Simple looks belie strong features, like delete (which asks the relays to pull your note) a good option for fat fingered people like me. Yakahonne is a standout for style It kind of has its own culture coming from a Japanese perspective. Long form notes and lots of interesting stuff Amethyst (Android) I tried this app setting up a friend. Seems very twitter-like. There are a few browser based / clients for desktop I’m interested in. Although I currently use my phone almost exclusively.
