No one has ever become holy by fighting evil. We only become holy by falling in love with Christ. ☦️Saint Porphyrios

Do not say that faith in Christ alone can save you, for this is not possible if you do not attain love for Him, which is demonstrated by deeds. As for mere faith: "The demons also believe and tremble" (James, 2:19). The action of love consists in heartfelt good deeds toward one's neighbor, magnanimity, patience, and sober use of things. ☦️St. Maximus the Confessor #Christianity #biblestr

Hear, O Daughter, and consider and incline your ear; forget your people and your father’s house, and the king will desire your beauty. Since he is your Lord, bow to him . . . The princess is decked in her chamber with gold-woven robes, in many-colored robes she is led to her king, with her virgin companions, her escort, in her train. With joy and gladness they are led along, as they enter the palace of the king. Instead of your fathers shall be your sons; you will make them princes in all the earth. I will cause your name to be celebrated in all generations, therefore, the peoples will praise you forever and ever (Ps 45.10–17). ☦️The Orthodox Church understands these words of the psalm to be a prophecy directly related to Mary the Theotokos. According to the Gospel of Saint Luke which is read at the Vigil of each of her feasts, Mary herself speaks the following words: My soul magnifies the Lord and my Spirit rejoices in God my Saviour, for He has regarded the low estate of His handmaiden. For behold, hence-forth all generations shall call me blessed; for He who is mighty has done great things for me and holy is His name. And His mercy is on those who fear Him from generation to generation (Lk 1.47–50). ☦️The main theme of the feast of Mary’s entrance to the Temple, repeated many times in the liturgical services, is the fact that she enters the Temple to become herself the living temple of God, thus inaugurating the New Testament in which are fulfilled the prophecies of old that “the dwelling of God is with man” and that the human person is the sole proper dwelling place of the Divine Presence (Ezek 37.27; Jn 14.15–23; Acts 7.47; 2 Cor 6.11; Eph 2.18–22; 1 Pet 2.4; Rev 22.1–4). Today is the preview of the good will of God, of the preaching of the salvation of mankind. The Virgin appears in the temple of God, in anticipation proclaiming Christ to all. Let us rejoice and sing to her: Rejoice, O Divine Fulfillment of the Creator’s dispensation (Troparion). The most pure Temple of the Saviour, the precious Chamber and Virgin, the Sacred Treasure of the Glory of God, is presented today to the house of the Lord. She brings with her the grace of the Spirit, which the angels of God do praise. Truly this woman is the Abode of Heaven! (Kontakion). image

“The cross is the door to mysteries. Through this door the intellect makes entrance in to the knowledge of heavenly mysteries. The knowledge of the cross is concealed in the sufferings of the cross. And the more our participation in its sufferings, the greater the perception we gain through the cross. For, as the Apostle says, `As the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.” ☦️St. Isaac the Syrian

This is the last passage from St. Seraphim Rose's "Nihilism": "We must again be Christians. It is futile, in fact it is precisely absurd, to speak of reforming society, of changing the path of history, of emerging into an age beyond absurdity, if we have not Christ in our hearts; and if we do not have Christ in our hearts, nothing else matters. It is of course possible that there may be an age beyond absurdity; is is more likely perhaps -and Christians must always be prepared for this eventuality- that there will not be, and that the age of absurdity is indeed the last age. If may be that the final testimony Christians may be able to give in this age will be the ultimate testimony, the blood of their martyrdom. But this is cause for rejoicing and not for despair. For the hope of Christians is not in this world or in any of its kingdoms--that hope, indeed, is the ultimate absurdity; the hope of Christians is in the Kingdom of God which is not of this world." #Christianity #Orthodoxy #biblestr image

image Interestingly, denying Christ is the real "antisemitism". Jesus is either the God-Man or not...there is no neutrality in His claim. He isn't JUST a good teacher, or a compassionate man. He is God. If you don't believe that than, by definition, you are an " antichrist". Rabbinic Judaism vehemently opposes Christ as God and, as a religion, will do anything to convince the world of this falsehood. To label St. John Chrysostom and his writings as extremism/form of terrorism should paint a pretty good picture of what they think about Christ and His Church. Zionist-Jews: The pawns of Lucifer. “Anti-Semitic?” It’s a trick. We always use it to stifle legitimate criticism of Zionist Israel.” -Shulamit Aloni, former Israeli cabinet member “Anti-Semitism does not signify opposition to Semitism. There is no such thing. It is an expression we Jews use effectively as a smear word used to brand as a bigot, like you guys, anyone who brings criticism against Jews. We use it against hate-mongers.” -Harold Wallace Rosenthal

“The love of husband and wife is the force that welds society together. Men will take up arms and even sacrifice their lives for the sake of this love. When harmony prevails, the children are raised well, the household is kept in order, and neighbors, friends, and relatives praise the result. Great benefits, both of families and states, are thus produced. When it is otherwise, however, everything is thrown into confusion and turned upside-down.” image . ☦️St. John Chrysostom
