Religion informs culture which informs politics.
Ideologies are completely worthless.
Your idea of freedom is attached to a political ideology that has no eternal grounding or, better said, lacks Christ (Logos).
Proverbs 9:10— “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
2 Corinthians 3:16-17— Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

“We cannot live in such a way that no one grieves or offends us, for the Apostle Luke writes: we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God (Acts 14:22), and bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ (Gal. 6:2). Let us therefore ask that we may bear sorrows with self-reproach and humility and not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good, and with the Prophet say: With them that hate peace I was peaceable (Ps. 119:6).”

“Often the means chosen by God to achieve His goals are incomprehensible to us until they are accomplished. Only afterward can we come to understand God’s care and providence for us and for the human race. God occasionally repeats these unexpected events—either merciful or threatening to us depending on the manner of our life—in order to remind us not to ascribe anything to our own efforts, reason, or work ethic. Instead, He wants us to pay attention every moment to our inner spiritual life and become convinced that everything in the cosmos occurs only by the goodwill or permission of God, in accordance to our good or evil deeds, which will determine either our blessedness or our perdition.”
☦️St. John Maximovitch
