The Dragon is an open-source Bitcoin mining hardware design that utilizes the BM1370 mining chips, renowned for their exceptional performance and efficiency. At the time of writing, it stands among the most advanced Bitcoin mining chips available. The Dragon is equipped with SPI touchscreen for intuitive control, a microSD card slot for expanded system storage, real-time audio alerts through integrated alarm hardware and firmware. This combination of high-performance components and advanced features delivers a powerful, efficient, and user-friendly Bitcoin mining solution. Without any delay, let's dive in! Keep in mind that for benchmarking purposes, we are using basic heatsink and cooling systems to later compare them against our custom thermal management solutions, such as the ThermoColumn AirMatrix. The Dragon is equipped with SPI display capabilities, touchscreen functionality, a microSD card slot and an audio alarm buzzer. These features greatly enhance the capabilities of open-source Bitcoin mining hardware and can be seamlessly integrated into other open-source designs, such as the Bitaxe. By offering real-time performance monitoring, intuitive user interaction, expandable data storage, and instant system audio alerts, this hardware integration empowers Bitcoin miners with greater control, improved usability, and a more efficient and reliable mining experience. The reconfigured hardware is also showing significant potential in efficiency, an area we will certainly continue exploring as we scale to larger designs. Currently, the Dragon is undergoing revisions, with many important enhancements already in the development pipeline. A significant amount of work is still underway, as extensive custom firmware must be developed to fully support this new hardware. We are incredibly excited to begin this process and bring this technology into the hands of Bitcoin mining enthusiasts. We will begin testing our ThermoColumn AirMatrix system on the Dragon once the basic thermal management solutions have been fully benchmarked. In the meantime, here's a sneak peek at the planned custom thermal management stack designed for the Dragon. This design focuses on enhancing efficiency and reliability through innovative airflow and heat dissipation solutions, making it ideal for demanding applications like Bitcoin mining. Hey #nostr , got an open source #bitcoin mining hardware update! Excited to announce that the BittyAxe 803 is hashing, delivering impressive performance and efficiency even at the absolute base-level benchmarking with a basic heatsink and fan. We will be manufacturing a one of a kind custom heatsink and thermal management solution for the BittyAxe that will significantly enhance cooling efficiency while maintaining a sleek and compact form factor. We’ll monitor its performance over the next week before moving forward with production PCBs and releasing the source on our GitHub, then advancing to the next phase. Pushing the boundaries of efficiency and performance in half the size of a standard #Bitaxe. With the BittyAxe platform, we will explore features like microSD support, backup power options via solar, battery, or grid, and many more exciting features as we progress.
