Not a lot to see but this is what's left of Codnor Castle in Derbyshire, said to be built in the late 12th century (1170 - 1190). In the UK there's a archaeology TV show and they filmed an episode here back in 2007, a Henry V gold noble coin was discovered when they excavated the moat area. You can see why they chose this location to build it.

Pretty sure my cousin still has all his Mean Machines magazines that my auntie used to buy him from a newsagents called Lewis Meesons (since long shutdown) probably all in near mint condition along with his Sega Mega-cd and all its original packaging, full autism 😂 Can't recall that many games from that machine but remember a Tetris blocks type game called Columns but most memorable was Night Trap as I think it may have been one of the first video games to play like an interactive movie with cut scenes, probably wasn't even that fun to play but novel for the times. If you're into 3d printing, prototyping, precision, high accuracy, machining, engineering or even basic shop skills you should watch Dan Gelbart's videos on YouTube, they guy is some kind of genius tbh. Watched his workshop tour and some of his other videos a few years ago and loads of the stuff he covered has stuck with me. One notable mention was his Moore No3 Jig Borer, accurate to 1 micron / 40 millionth of an inch, leadscrews that are half a micron out to allow for slight temperature changes in an oil bath, invar headstock, the guys in the factory that did the final scraping in wore aluminised suits so their body temperature didn't distort the tolerances 🤯 Hold my beer while I drill a hole in this speck of dust. When the guy started out with not much he used to build his own machines and equipment, some of which he still uses.

The metal rod was from the mechanism of an up & over garage door and the other pieces were scraps so I guess you could consider this junksculpting, the wheelbarrow was given a coat of Hammerite and concreted in the ground just as an ode to a deceased relative who was a builder. 🧱⚒️🪏🪦

Fruit update 🍍😁 A quick Internet search informed me that the reason pineapples sold in UK supermarkets are so rubbish is due to the pineapples being picked too early/unripe so they'll survive the journey from the country they are grown. Once a pineapple has been picked it may soften or change colour but it doesn't ripen or become sweeter. In an ideal world, you wouldn't be buying or consuming tinned fruit but the pineapple found in tins has been left to ripen before being picked, the packaging states no added sugars and 100% pineapple juice. Just not worth buying pineapples in the UK, not from supermarkets anyway, might as well buy the tinned stuff. #fruitstr 🍍😁

Would you spend $1400 on a Silky Katanaboy? Cool af but what you gonna do once the blade starts to dull? Not even sure you can sharpen them as the teeth are induction hardened and even if you can it would be a job and a half compared to sharpening a chainsaw chain.

Plodding on with the 30" bow saw. The logs that need cutting only go up to about 6" diameter so it's not too bad although it's all hardwood and most of it is already dried and has been in the sun so swapped out the green wood raker blade for a peg tooth. Some of it isn't worth splitting and will leave as rounds, the other stuff will just get split in half and stacked in the wood store. As it's a residential area and for the health of the flue - I only burn kiln dried or seasoned hardwood which is 20% moisture content or lower (government guidelines) most of this stuff will probably be ready to burn by winter. 🪵🪚🪓

How do you connect W of S to Primal though using NWC? Can't see anywhere in the wallet to generate/view the connection code?

👀🪚 Saw a post from an old guy who I follow on X the other day saying he had to work on Sunday, something he didn't want to do but had deadlines to meet, thought to myself that for me milling some boards and being productive would be preferable to sitting there like a lemon scrolling social media, plus I'd be earning money but it's like anything...
