This didn't feel smooth but manged the half marathon distance under 2hr (just 🀏⏰) Best laid plans went out the window, if I'm only doing 2 runs a week the idea was to put in some easy miles at the start of the week and some shorter but faster stuff later on but for one reason or another haven't done any running for a week. Went off too quick, felt knackered the first few miles and didn't feel right until about mile 6. With some sensible training and staying more active I feel I should be able to smoke this time. #exercise #runstr

Pretty humbling starting your sats stacking journey again when BTC is $90k a coin. My first BTC buy was 0.08 BTC for Β£494.40 using Bittylicious in Feb 2018. Back then I wasn't buying BTC to own BTC but to on-ramp to crypto and buy altcoins because I thought everyone was getting rich, I'd buy crap like Ark to stake but not knowing what I was doing or even having basic charting skills - this was basically throwing money and Bitcoin away, by early 2018 Ark had had its run and everything was experiencing a blow off top. Ark being a typical DPoS shitcoin, all the emissions were flowing to validators, team members and whales who were no doubt already massively up and could keep selling their rewards as long as there were buyers, the same playbook we've seen over and over again with shitcoins like Atom & Tia. Fast forward to 2026 and I find myself once again buying BTC but this time to hodl, there's been times over the years where I've been up (usually briefly) on Alts but ended up either giving the gains away or riding them back down, then there's been money wasted on NFTs, Airdrops that could've been sold straight away and used to buy BTC but I fell for the old "Stake your airdrop for further loyalty airdrops" BS as the price tanks over time. Long story short I've got some alts left but nowhere near the dollar amount I would have had just keeping all the BTC purchased from 2018 - 2021. πŸ˜‚ Ark.io + Dragonchain = Maximum Shit. image

Watched some videos on YouTube to get some ideas on the best approach to running. Although it's been exercise, what I've been doing could be considered Greyzone running - going out and running the same pace each time and probably faster than I'm conditioned for. Only did 8 miles today but had a go at Fartlek training, set the lap alert on the watch to 0.5 miles, tried to aim for slower laps of 10mi+ and faster laps of 7-8mi. Had to work a bit on the fast laps but not hard enough I couldn't recover when on the slower laps. Next time I go for a longer run I'm going to try for 10mi average and maybe work towards going over 20 mile. #exercise #runstr

Any bike #bikestr enthusiasts on Nostr? Been looking at new bikes, originally thought about a gravel bike (best of both worlds) but if I want to increase mileage would be better off on the road and get an endurance bike (less aggressive stance than race/road bikes) All the ones I've looked at come with carbon fibre rims, tubeless and hookless tyres. I've never even ran tubeless nevermind hookless and the hate for hookless seems quite strong on YouTube - some saying it's just a scam (manufacturers saving money on tooling) and some saying they're fine for mtb and gravel bikes (wider, less pressure) but there's no good reason for road bikes with narrower tyres to be running them and even dangerous if over inflated or ran at high pressures. People will highlight the increased weight but I put Schwalbe Marathon Plus Tour Smartguard tyres with inner tubes on my old mtb a few years ago and honestly never get punctures or have to worry about slime. What do other people run on road bikes? Tubeless? And take a repair kit and 16g Co2 can? Or prefer oldskool innertubes? #bikestr #bike

Tried to pace myself around 9:50 min per mile so I didn't bonk and because I don't take anything with me - drinks or gels etc. Ate a banana, crumpet with Maple syrup, a cup of coffee and a mug of water with an electrolyte sachet half an hour before leaving though and the weather is milder today, both of these things seemed to help. Don't wanna look like an Instagram runner but was thinking of getting one of those hydration vests to wear for anything over half marathon especially as the weather gets better and headed into summer. #exercise #runstr

Tried setting up #runstr but ran into a problem, my phone is an older Huawei model running on EMUI, Garmin Connect to Health Connect requires Android 14 or higher to work, there is supposedly a work around using Health Sync (3rd party App) but that requires subscription. Long story short, need a new phone anyway 🀦

Nothing much changes! With all the talk yesterday of the US supposedly gearing up for an attack on Iran I thought back to when I was listening to the radio around the early 2ks maybe late 2001 early 2002 after 911 when the US aided by the UK started a war in Afghanistan. It was either David Morales or Roger Sanchez on Galaxy Fm but they played this track and I guess it was quite memorable due to the violin 🎻 Turns out the violinist was an Israeli-American named Miri Ben-Ari ΧžΧ™Χ¨Χ™ Χ‘ΧŸ-ארי and house heads will already know about Kerri Chandler. *I do have them but this post contains no political statements #iran #palestine #syria #lebanon

Knock off Box Bollen from Ebay, they should've added another G to boxing and said it was sponsored by Triple G (Gennady Golovkin) Nice instructions πŸ˜‚ #funny

Proof of exercise! Some caveats though; 20+yr old hard tail mountain bike still running all the original bearings and bottom bracket. Unfueled, no sports drinks or glycogen top ups, last meal 7pm night before (fruit and rice) no breakfast. January UK, depressing, grey, windy, got cold, drenched and dirty from rain and road spray again. No regular cycle training, might only cycle once a month. Kept the crank turning for nearly 4hrs even if I was crawling at times and thought about getting off. *It's a Giant XTC hardtail that I've had from new, all I've replaced is the chain rings and rear derailleur with the cheapest Shimano stuff I could find on Ebay, Giant might not be top of the range but I'm under the impression the build quality is generally pretty good for the money with Giant and thought about getting a Revolt Gravel bike. #bikestr #exercise

Heart rate seems a bit high but hadn't eaten for 14 hrs (7pm night before) and conditions are still near zero, ice on the ground wearing shorts so I guess your body works a bit harder to keep you warm. 2:01:50 for the half marathon, might try eating a banana or something before next time see if it makes a difference but like the empty stomach sensation tbh. Still massively impressed by people that can do full 26 mile marathons! 1919 calories burnt on an empty stomach and still haven't got a 6 pack, never had one or at least never seen it πŸ˜‚ 6ft 164lb #runstr πŸƒ image

How many dudes got a bit insecure about pull-ups when they saw that 71yr old RFK Jr could do 20? πŸ™‹Guilty πŸ˜‚ Either it's something you train or you're a rock climber and can probably do loads with ease anyway. Set a bar up, best dead hang so far is 3 minutes totally still no cheating by twisting or swinging around, up to 7 pull-ups so far. image

Although there were English & Scots in the WSM final I was actually happy that Rayno Nel won and was kind of rooting for him tbh, fairly new to the sport but smashed it on a few of the events beating the favourites and ex winners of the title. First πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦ South African (And whole of Africa) to win the title and the guy still had a full-time job and trained Strongman part time. Eddie Hall has made a nice career for himself (TV, YouTube, Social Media, Sponsorships, Appearances etc) after winning the title, hopefully this guy can do the same. image

Dusting of snow and ice on the ground when I got up but it didn't look too windy until I hit certain stretches of the run that felt like running into an icey headwind that kicked my ass, stopped the watch and started walking at 13.8 miles, a bit πŸ’© tbh and felt like I'm getting worse not better 🀷 Forced myself to do some sporadic running totalling another 2.2 miles in between walking as I had to get home anyway. Total ran about 16 miles, 9.35/mi Avg, the only positive is that my average cadence had increased to 161 spm as it's my understanding runners should aim for 160-180 spm, I was wearing running shorts in the cold but my knees were fine. These stats will be poor to experienced runners but I only started the 2nd half of last year. #runstr πŸƒ

It's making the cattle ill, some cows are collapsing and dying, do you want us to keep adding Bovaer to the feed Mr Gates? Of course, we need to tackle man made climate change and my money has infiltrated the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), UK Food Standards Agency (FSA), and US FDA so it's been deemed safe to use. image

You can pick up a new Garmin Forerunner 55 watch for about Β£120, it's one of their entry level models but will do pretty much everything you need, the GPS syncs okay and there's no need to take your phone out on a run as the run data can be transferred to your Garmin App when you get back. The only thing missing on this model is a metronome to help you keep your cadence but it will give you your average when you are finished, in my case the average was 158spm which is a bit low but I was struggling a bit tbh after sitting on my arse stuffing my face and drinking chemical laced lager over Christmas so the uphill sections had me blowing a bit. Once you get a watch you start getting pissed off if you can't cross a busy road as you're conscious of the timer still ticking while you wait for a gap in the traffic. #runstr πŸƒ

This is f**ked up! Some will say it doesn't matter because alcohol is poison anyway while others will say it's just cost cutting and a symptom of capitalism and greed, but it starts to look more and more like eugenics to me being orchestrated by sick and twisted creeps like Bill Gates "Let's see how many working class people we can kill off with cancer by putting antifreeze chemicals in Carling" Ale in Medieval times was low-alcohol and nutritious, often called liquid bread and contained protein, vitamins, minerals, and calories from the malt, had no preservatives so was brewed fresh every week or few days. We really do live in a sick society where everything is being poisoned, can you even trust anything sold in supermarkets?
