Lo cuál lleva a: - Sin el control de la emisión el gobierno ya no podría imprimir para afrontar sus gastos solo podría aumentar sus ingresos (impuestos) o reducir gasto, como ambas cosas son impopulares serían mucho más cuidadosos. - Al reducir su gasto el gobierno no podría gastar dinero en financiar planes sociales o asistencialismo, tampoco habría dinero para sostener un estado de bienestar. - Esto también haría que el discurso político de los candidatos cambie a algo menos populista, ya que dichas medidas no se podrían financiar. - Reducir el gasto también llevaría a que los estados se descentralicen, se fortalezca el federalismo o incluso la secesión.
