If you have a relative who is into CS skins, you have a prime teaching opportunity infront of you. If you are unaware, a recent patch to the well known CS2 changed how some of the rarest skins can be obtained. The 'rarity' goes as such White->Light Blue->Blue ->Purple->Pink->Red->Gold The game has a feature called Trade-Up which allows you to trade 5 of any lower grade rarity for the next one up. For example trade 5 whites for 1 light blue, but the highest rarity you could attain through trade ups, pre patch, was reds. Limiting the most wanted skins, gloves and knives, to just be obtained by opening them in the cases. image With the new patch you can trade reds up to get gold, thus flooding the market with new inventory previously though to be unobtainable. TLDR CS2 changed the rules regarding their skins. It led to a nearly 50% collapse in the total market value. I dont attribute any value to skins, but alot of people do. These individuals are primed to be orange pilled. When the rules change, most players lose.
