I was working in computer sales at Best Buy when Windows Me was released. I went to a catered dinner for the announcement and initial training. They even gave us an early release copy on CD, which I probably still have in a binder somewhere. It crashed during their demo. We were cracking jokes the whole time. It was obvious before any of us had actually used it what a complete joke Microsoft was about to release. We advised most customers to stick with Windows 98, until a year later when they rushed out the first version of XP.
