Dug deeper into ZKP (Zero Knowledge Proof).
My initial understanding of it a while back (when I made a post about it) of it is correct, and I'm pretty sure most people who talk about it don't properly understand it correctly in sense of verifying information about someone.
What I didn't 'dig' back then was if there was an actual working solution in doing so.
Can we verify that someone is 'above 18' without providing any information about who we're targeting?
After digging into it now, it seems like the tech has been there for a while (CL) and now an improved version of it (BSS+), but there's barely adoption for it from the looks of it. (obviously I can verify the validity of the tech since I'm no coder or cryptographer, so for those who do, dig into that x3).
Basically:
ZKP (BBS+) is: Private + Secure / Verifiable Info, but can't be traced to a person (meaning 'hey can i use your zkp? i want to access this site' to an underage person.)
KYC is: Secure / Verifiable Info + traced to a person, but not private at all (consequence: doxxing, blackmail)
Obviously ZKP is better if we're weighing things, however, you have your answer why ZKP isn't being deployed by countries even though it matches their 'protect the children': It was never about protecting the children; it was about having power/control over you.
I've reached an understanding on this, nearly, where I can explain the full process in a simple way (it took me a bit to understand it, since it's different then the knowledge of normal private key signing and proof of signature / who signed what). Will continue going down the rabbit hole in this (right now, learning more about BBS+).

I guess I'm one of those #vtubers.
Having fun talking about general topics, vrchat/similar, and games. Also #indiedev #gamedev. You can call me: Freak فْرِيكٌ フリク (still learning Nihongo).

When I first got my hands on a Tamagotchi, I really enjoyed it, and always wanted to play more of it, but every time i attempt to play with it / something similar, I always get disinterested within the same session.
I realized that I was hooked the first time because it was novel/new and it felt like I was interacting with something that I had no idea how it works, then after i figured out that its a strict series of patterns resulting in knowing it as an easily predictable experience is why I lost interest. This is why cats or dogs, among other reasons, are more interesting/entertaining than something like a Tamagotchi.
What would make me want get hooked again on something like a Tamagotchi, is increasing the dynamic-ness of such a thing, and with AI that can become possible now, an autonomous Tamagotchi. Looking forward to whoever makes it and basically have infinite variations of it.
BIP-177 can go suck a bag of sats.
If people want a doc to use sats, here ya go, here's BIP-188:
BIP-188: The Sat Symbol
So who's gonna vibe code a secure offline PWA Nostr remote signer?
Why? Why not.
Is it a good idea? Dunno.
If it doesn't have security issues, will it be great? Fuck ya x3
That's just sad that creative game devs have to think this way.
Schedule 1 creator:
"if Steam wouldn't take it for whatever reason, I could just pivot it to be a farming game" and "strip all the drug stuff out"
Gothic remake
🤣

Played around with the DNN name encoder, and now most names will be 1 word instead of two (99% of the time), instead of two words most of the time, but that benefit comes at the cost of 1 extra letter, but I think that's a worthwhile compromise.
So, for example, instead of:
nabcVintageCanal
That is now:
nabceAbsurd
---
Old:
n_3LetterBatchIdentifier_NumberCycleIdentifier_BIP39Word(s)
New:
n_3LetterBatchIdentifier_1LetterBlockIdentifier_NumberCycleIdentifier_BIP39Word(s)
Update on DEGA after 100 hours:
The design of the publishing section is done (there are like 10 different types of stuff to publish =P).
I think the next focus after that is their pages (game page is done / as mentioned previously, DLC and demo share a lot of similarities with the game page, so those would be kind of quick, and the others shouldn't take much time, aside from one).
I was going to write here all the next things that need to be done, but it's kind of long, so I'll skip on posting that and just make another post like this talking about the next step x3
Everytime I add a UI/feature element in DEGA (well, any nostr project I work on for myself) I basically always think "wait... what if I'm not around to update this?" and then change the flow where users can add whatever custom stuff they want and/or see whatever custom stuff they want.
Nostr really does change everything from A to Z.
A friend suggested doing a 'top 25 games' of all time.
Made one, not in any order/rank, and from the games that I remember, here's a list on my end.
I made this list but then started remembering more games like:
Prototype
Halo
So ya, it isn't a 'final' from me, and there are still games i haven't played that i want to, so this is fine for now.
Here's the thing to make yours if you want:

Hm... I'm not sure how many speakers would be willing to download VRChat (doesn't require a VR headset, just PC) and give a talk or workshop in VRChat, for a #nostVR / #nostrVRC focused event(s).
With that said, I also wouldn't know how many attendees would do the same in terms of going into the game to hear said talks (or watch it on youtube).
Regardless, it wouldn't hurt to prepare for whenever that time comes.
(In the meantime, I'd like to attend or do more unofficial (or official, who knows =P) parallel nostr events in VRChat. I'd need to find what these events are and when they're happening. Nostr needs an events platform with a filter for nostr events =/)
I got myself to be a speaker and can talk about my projects, and a few topics as well, so there's that x3
I think I can get 1-3 more speakers to talk about their project and/or different topics, but we'll see.
With that said, feel free to reply with your suggestions about who you want as a speaker, or if you want to speak yourself, or as an attendee, what would you like to see/hear/learn/etc.
#nostr
The key thing missing, imo, from nostr to make it move towards having the best 'sustainable/maintainable' UX on all fronts is having a seamless economic incentive system (yes I'm talking about ads, no I'm not talking about having it in a traditional sense, yes I'd like to build it at some point when resources allow it).
I couldn't go to any Nostr-related events that were happening, because of various economic and geopolitical reasons, and I couldn't even launch one locally for similar reasons, so the next-best thing that I wanted to do was to see if I could run parallel events of the in-real-life ones but in virtual reality (/ in VRChat), but I haven't got around to doing it, however, I was very happy that I noticed/discovered an individual who made nostr group in VRChat and they discovered me back on nostr, so we connected, and they have organized an (unofficial) event in VRChat to run alongside #nostrasia , where a world was created for it with fun nostr purple ostriches running around as we talked and watched the livestream for the event within the world. It was a great start and I enjoyed myself =3
I don't know if I will, but I'd love to keep an eye on future events and see if they'll also do livestreams so we can do more of these types of events in VR happening in parallel with the in-real-life ones.
Eventually / hopefully, we can have our own vr/nostr focused event, perhaps #vrnostr / #nostrvr ( #nostrvrc if specific to one vr game) in the future =3
Aside from that, the friend I made during said event is thinking of doing a very interesting project related to nostr and VRChat, and if they manage to do it, it'll be very exciting/fun =3

During the #nostrasia event, someone mentioned doing a multisig to verify the authenticity of a secondary nostr key if someone has had their primary nostr key compromised.
It was in Japanese, so I might not have gotten the full picture; however, if that's the whole story, there is one issue with it:
An attacker can forge a multisig with a different secondary key they control and fake an older data/time than the truthful one. Since nostr doesn't have a timestamp-enforcing mechanism, this method is not necessarily a 100% verifiable solution.
However, a solution to it would be to involve Bitcoin in the process, by deriving a Bitcoin address from both the primary and secondary key and conducting the multisig process on that level, which would give it the security/timestamp it needs to properly act as a 100% verifiable backup solution. The only 'con' about this is the cost of money to do so.
I'd do that, but I'd also do it differently, the reverse in fact, where the primary key is kept hidden/secure while the secondary key is the one to be used publicly and would be the one being exposed to the risk of being compromised, where if it does happen, then you simply use a different/new secondary key that does another multisig with the primary key, and clients would adapt to this new system where if you follow my primary key, you'd also see posts from my secondary key (with a label 'proxy' so you'd know).
Enjoying Nostrasia digitally in virtual reality x3
