In the Dutch city of Franeker there lived a man, Eise Eisinga (https://www.eisinga-planetarium.nl/en/history/), who built the most elaborate planetarium of the time in his house. More and more space in his house was taken up by the gear that drove the dials in the displays in the living. The planetarium was built at the end of the 18th century and today is open to the public and well worth a visit.


I enjoyed my two days in Århus even though this stay was much too short.

For the first time I have seen the cable ferry in Rendsburg in operation. The original ferry was put in operation on December 2nd, 1913 (
Yesterday evening the „Senta“ tied up alongside us. What a beauty, built in 1933 and still owned by the same family. 

I have achieved most in my life in times when there was only one viable path forward.
